Crystal Palace vs Manchester United Prediction: Palace to halt Red Devils?

Manchester United were brought back down to earth with a bump on Monday night as they were beaten 1-0 at home by 10-man Everton. Ruben Amorim had turned a corner, but now the pressure is back on as they travel to the capital to take on Crystal Palace (12:00, TNT Sports 1).

Team News
Will Hughes suffered a knee injury away at Strasbourg and therefore is likely to miss this game. Adam Wharton should come back into the XI, along with Daichi Kamada, while Chris Richards should also get his place back in defence.
Will Matheus Cunha be fit to return after his training ground ‘accident’? That’s probably the big question for Manchester United heading to the capital. Joshua Zirkzee was handed a start up front in his absence with Benjamin Sesko out injured, but Mason Mount could come into the final third, with Bryan Mbeumo pushed further forward.
Harry Maguire is out with a thigh injury, while Diogo Dalot a contender to replace Patrick Dorgu from the off. Luke Shaw, Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro should keep their places in the back three, with Lisandro Martinez needing minutes off the bench before he is thrown into the starting XI.

Crystal Palace vs Manchester United Stats
- Man Utd haven't scored in their last four games against Crystal Palace
- Crystal Palace have kept three PL clean sheets in a row
Crystal Palace to win to nil @ 16/5
Manchester United haven’t scored in their last four meetings with Crystal Palace, and without Cunha they looked so blunt against Everton. The Eagles have been rock-solid in the Premier League lately, keeping three clean sheets in a row, and only conceded once in their last four league tussles (vs Arsenal).
With Richards and Marc Guehi back in defence, I think they should be able to keep United at bay, while I am just leaning towards them getting the win - despite the fact that they had to go to France on Thursday. I don’t know quite where to place United this season, but I can’t trust them yet, especially on the road where they have only won once this term.

Scorecast - Crystal Palace 1-0, Mateta to score first @ 28/1
I cannot see there being loads of goals in this fixture. Palace are so tight with giving away chances right now in the Premier League and I cannot shake the feeling that this lunchtime kick-off will be a bit of a tepid affair.
United have scored a few goals away from home lately, but I think they are a massive confidence team and that took a hit on Monday night. Without Sesko and potentially without Cunha, I worry for them once again. Mateta offers a massive threat for the home team, with six goals in 12 PL outings so far, so I’ll back him to nick the winner.
