Burnley vs Chelsea Prediction: Happy hunting for Blues at Turf Moor

The final international break of the calendar year is firmly in the rear view mirror, and the Premier League returns this weekend with a Saturday lunchtime contest between Burnley and Chelsea at Turf Moor (12:30 BST, live on TNT Sports 1).

Enzo Maresca's men are hunting their third straight win after beating Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers before the break, while Burnley are looking to stop a two-game losing skid here. Read on for my Burnley vs Chelsea predictions, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

Ex-Chelsea striker Armando Broja was stretchered off in Albania's loss to England last Sunday, so he is expected to be absent for the hosts here.

Broja joins the likes of Connor Roberts, Zeki Amdouni and Jordan Beyer on the treatment table - all three are expected to sidelined until the new year.

As for Chelsea, Enzo Fernandez, Benoit Badiashile and Pedro Neto are expected to face late fitness tests ahead of the trip to Turf Moor, while the likes of Mykhaylo Mudryk, Dario Essugo, Cole Palmer, Romeo Lavia and Levi Colwill will all definitely miss the trip to Lancashire.

Burnley vs Chelsea Odds

Chelsea are 1/2 favourites for Saturday's contest, giving them an implied win probability of 66.7%, while the hosts are 6/1 and the draw is 10/3.

Liam Delap is favourite to score anytime at 6/4, along with Chelsea teammate Joao Pedro, and Lyle Foster is shortest-priced for the hosts at 7/2.

Chelsea win and over 2.5 goals @ 5/4

This is a huge chance for Chelsea to put some pressure on the top four before they've kicked a ball this weekend, should they taste victory at Turf Moor.

Burnley slipped further towards the drop zone with a defeat to West Ham United before the break, meaning they've now lost seven top-flight tussles already this term - and to make matters worse, they've also got the second-worst defensive record in the league.

Maresca's side appear to be full of goals, even without their talisman Palmer, as the Blues have bagged at least two goals in four of their last five on the road, so rather than back the outright Chelsea win at 1/2, I'll add in over 2.5 total goals for further value.

The Clarets have conceded two or more goals in six of their last seven matches, and over 2.5 goals has landed in five of their last seven across all competitions.

Joao Pedro to score anytime @ 6/4

Next, I'm backing Pedro to continue his scoring streak this weekend.

As mentioned above, with Palmer still sidelined, Pedro should assume the starring role in attack, either up front or just behind the striker.

After a five-game run without a goal contribution, the Brazilian has scored in each of his last two games to see off Spurs and Wolves, so he looks a decent pick to be on the scoresheet anytime on Saturday.
