Bournemouth vs West Ham Prediction: Hammers comeback on the cards?

West Ham have won their last two games on the bounce, and the rejuvenated Hammers will hope to continue that new-found momentum after the international break as they face Bournemouth (15:00).

Team News

Tyler Adams and Adam Smith clashed heads in the heavy defeat to Aston Villa, with Adams coming out slightly better off as his captain was forced to be taken off. Given that was a concussion substitute, Smith will not play any part in this one, with Lewis Cook likely to feature at right-back.

Alex Jimenez was subbed off after being brought on at Villa Park which is never a good sign, while star man Antoine Semenyo - the subject of fierce transfer interest - will look to end his run of four games without a goal. 

Lucas Paqueta is suspended for the Hammers after picking up his fifth yellow of the season, so Tomas Soucek should start having scored off the bench against Burnley in the 3-2 win. Freddie Potts is a doubt with a dead leg while Niclas Fullkrug could return to the squad after his thigh issue. Callum Wilson is expected to lead the line again after a run of good performances.

West Ham have shown new attacking threat under Nuno Espirito Santo, scoring three goals in each of their last two outings. Both teams have scored in the last three West Ham games, with Jarrod Bowen and Wilson offering good attacking threat. 

Six of the 11 Bournemouth league games this term have seen both teams score and I don’t think either side will be able to keep a clean sheet given the talent on show. Semenyo missed a penalty against Villa but will be desperate to get back on the scoresheet, so let’s back both teams to find the net on the South Coast.

I think the odds on this are too good to turn down. West Ham have conceded the first goal in their last two games and gone on to win, first conceding to Jacob Murphy against Newcastle before winning 3-1, then conceding to Zian Flemming and Burnley before taking the three points. 

Bournemouth provide a tough test and should be able to score first, but the Cherries have lost their last two games and were shocking against Villa last time out. I think it could be three in a row - wins for West Ham and defeats for Bournemouth.
