Bournemouth vs Nottingham Forest Prediction: Dyche to continue Forest recovery

Premier League action returns to the Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon (KO: 14:00, live on Sky Sports+), with Bournemouth hosting Nottingham Forest in a clash between two sides at opposite ends of the table. The Cherries were denied the chance to go top by Crystal Palace’s dramatic comeback last weekend, while Forest arrive under new management and desperate to climb out of the bottom three.

Team news

Cherries boss Andoni Iraola will be without striker Evanilson (calf), while David Brooks and Enes Unal are both doubtful as they continue their recoveries.

Eli Junior Kroupi is expected to lead the line again after scoring twice in the 3-3 draw with Palace.

Julio Soler is unlikely to be thrown straight back into the Premier League line-up after returning from Under-20 World Cup duty, but fellow Argentine Marcos Senesi should start alongside Bafodé Diakité in central defence.

Sean Dyche takes charge of Forest for the first time in the Premier League after replacing Ange Postecoglou. Oleksandr Zinchenko (groin), Ola Aina and Dilane Bakwa are ruled out, while Chris Wood is a doubt with a knee issue.

Morgan Gibbs-White and Igor Jesus, who both scored penalties in the midweek Europa League win over Porto, are expected to start.

Bournemouth are 4/5 favourites to extend their unbeaten run to eight games, while Forest are 18/5 to claim a first away win of the season and the draw is priced at 11/4.

Bournemouth have made a strong start to the season, but they could not hold on to 2-0 and 3-2 leads against Palace last weekend and almost lost the game at Selhurst Park.

It must be a source of frustration to Iraola that something, perhaps in their mentality, has been holding them back from taking the final step to becoming Champions League contenders.

They could be vulnerable to a Forest side with renewed purpose after the disastrous 39-day tenure of Postecoglou was brought to an end last week.

Dyche and his staff are plugged into the club and the ex-Burnley and Everton boss’ style of play is pretty close to Nuno Espirito Santo’s.

Although they have not won away from home this season, Forest’s performances on the road have been decent.

It took a couple of Martin Zubimendi stunners to sink them at Arsenal and they were in the Newcastle game until late after drawing at both Palace and Burnley.

With Bournemouth prone to lapses - conceding 11 goals already - backing Forest to avoid defeat offers value.
