Arsenal are top of the Premier League right now and boast a three-point gap on their nearest challengers Manchester City. Given Liverpool’s drop-off in recent weeks, the Gunners are now the favourites to win the title.

Next up they host Crystal Palace (14:00, Sky Sports Main Event), and below you can find my Arsenal vs Crystal Palace Stats-Based Bet Builder Tips.

Arsenal to win

I know Crystal Palace have been impressive this season, but I’m backing Arsenal - not only to win this game - but to go on and win the Premier League title. Mikel Arteta’s squad look solid having picked up 19 points out of 24 in the top flight so far, and I just think the other teams have weaknesses that they don’t.

They hammered Atletico Madrid at the Emirates Stadium in midweek, have won three and drawn one at home in the Premier League and have won seven of their last eight in all competitions. The only blot on their record is that loss to Liverpool at Anfield and the home draw with Manchester City, but they are wiping the floor with everybody else.

Crystal Palace haven’t won in their last three games in all competitions, so it looks like they are the next ones on the chopping block.

BTTS No

Arsenal’s defence is also pretty mean and even with William Saliba a doubt, they’ve got plenty of capable replacements littered throughout the squad. The Gunners have now kept four clean sheets in a row in all competitions and keeping the ball away from their goal appears to be a real strength of this side.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace failed to score against AEK Larnaca on Thursday night and while Jean-Philippe Mateta is an obvious threat, I think Arsenal will be able to keep him quiet. Eberechi Eze may also have a big say in this game against his former side… oh how Palace would love to have him wearing their colours again on Sunday afternoon.

Will Hughes to get booked

Will Hughes to get booked is a common pick for my Palace predictions for good reason. He often finds himself in a sticky situation with the referee and has already picked up five yellow cards in 11 games across all competitions this term.

He’s a tough tackling midfielder who uses his energy to press opponents, but clearly he sometimes strays over the line. Too frequently in fact, as he has lost his place in the starting XI in recent weeks. However, I think he will be brought back in to strengthen the centre of the park for this tricky away game, especially given that Palace’s results were better when he was in the team.

Even coming off the bench, he’s always a decent shout to pick up a slice of cheddar. Our Bet Builder pays 9/2.
