Mohamed Salah ran away with the Premier League Golden Boot last season, scoring 29 goals - six more than his nearest challenger, Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak. Can the Egyptian ace do it all again in 2025/26 and claim a fifth award to move ahead of Thierry Henry as the outright leader?

Below are the Premier League Top Scorer Odds, with an overview of the top nine marksmen in contention...

Premier League Top Scorer Odds

  • Erling Haaland (Man City) @ 11/10
  • Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) @ 9/2
  • Alexander Isak (Newcastle) @ 11/2
  • Viktor Gyokeres (Arsenal) @ 13/2
  • Hugo Ekitike (Liverpool) @ 14/1
  • Cole Palmer (Chelsea) @ 16/1
  • Joao Pedro (Chelsea) @ 16/1
  • Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) @ 25/1
  • Dominic Solanke (Spurs) @ 25/1
  • 28/1 bar

Erling Haaland (Man City) @ 11/10

Erling Haaland claimed back-to-back Golden Boots in his first two Premier League seasons with Manchester City, as the Citizens scored their third and fourth consecutive league titles.

However, the 25-year-old was only third in the 2024/25 top scorer charts, netting 22 times, five fewer than the previous campaign.

Injuries didn't help the Norwegian's cause as, for the second season running, he was restricted to 31 league appearances, three and seven fewer than Isak and Salah, respectively.

Haaland looks to be back fully fit ahead of the new campaign, though, and that spells danger for his rivals.

The summer departure of Kevin De Bruyne to Napoli has seen City lose his creator-in-chief, but the Belgian's influence had waned somewhat, with fitness issues restricting the Belgian to 46 Premier League appearances over the last couple of seasons.

City went to France for De Bruyne's replacement, signing Rayan Cherki from Olympique Lyonnais in Ligue 1, where the 21-year-old registered 11 assists last season, in addition to eight in 12 Uefa Europa League appearances.

Should Cherki strike up a good understanding with Haaland, and the likes of Jeremy Doku and Phil Foden step things up, then it looks like the City striker's Golden Boot to lose.

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) @ 9/2

Salah appeared to be on for a record-breaking season in front of goal last season, netting 27 goals in his first 28 Premier League appearances, but just two in his final 10 saw the Liverpool star even fall one short of the 30 mark.

The 33-year-old will be desperate to pick up a record fifth Golden Boot at the end of the 2025/26 campaign, but if Haaland stays fit, his chances will decrease, and that's without factoring in the arrival of Hugo Ekitike at Anfield, while the French striker could be joined on the red half of Merseyside by Isak.

There's also the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which takes place between December 21 and January 18, to consider.

Salah won't be able to play every game like last season, and he isn't getting any younger, so it feels as though this is a year where his goalscoring numbers may drop off.

Write him off at your peril, though.

Alexander Isak (Newcastle) @ 11/2

Whether he ends up at St James' Park or Anfield, one thing is for sure - Isak guarantees goals.

The Swede clocked 10 in 22 Premier League outings during his debut campaign before hitting 21 and 21 in the 2023/24 and 2024/25 campaigns, respectively.

At Liverpool, you'd fancy his chances of improving on last season's tally, with Salah and Florian Wirtz pulling the strings behind him.

The only issue with Isak seems to be his fitness, as he has spent spells on the sidelines in all three of his terms on Tyneside.

Keep him on the field, though, and you have someone who provides cracking value in this market at 11/2.

Premier League Odds

Viktor Gyokeres (Arsenal) @ 13/2

One of two 'unknown' quantities on this list, if ever such a term can be used nowadays. Of course, anyone with a passing knowledge of either the EFL Championship or European football will be aware of Viktor Gyokeres' goalscoring record over the last few seasons for Coventry City and Sporting CP, but it remains to be seen how he fares in the Premier League.

The likes of Haaland and Isak haven't done too badly in the last few years, though, so there will be hope that he can have similar success to those two Scandinavians, rather than another, Denmark's Rasmus Hojlund, at Manchester United.

With Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard supplying the ball, Gyokeres shouldn't find opportunities too hard to come by, so there could be value in his price, too, although a Golden Boot in his first season is quite the ask considering the competition he faces.

Hugo Ekitike (Liverpool) @ 14/1

Signed from Eintracht Frankfurt following a 15-goal season in the Bundesliga, Ekitike is already off the mark for his new side, opening the scoring in Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace in the Community Shield, which the Reds lost on penalties at Wembley.

The 23-year-old looked lively on debut, linking play up nicely and bending a superb effort past Dean Henderson in the Eagles' net.

Like Gyokeres, though, Ekitike is new to the English top flight, and last season was his first making over 25 league appearances.

Should Isak or another forward join him at Anfield, the Frenchman may find it difficult to reach the kind of numbers needed to win a Golden Boot.

Cole Palmer (Chelsea) @ 16/1

After setting the bar so high in his debut campaign for Chelsea, netting 22 goals in 33 Premier League appearances, the 2024/25 season was pretty disappointing for Cole Palmer, who struck seven fewer times in four more games.

The England international began the season well, but scored just four league goals after Christmas Day, and only one after January 14.

Palmer should be on penalties again this term, so that will help to boost his numbers, but it's difficult to see him netting more than a fully-fit Haaland or Isak.

Premier League Odds

Joao Pedro (Chelsea) @ 16/1

Talking of penalties, Joao Pedro, who struck nine Premier League goals in 2023/24 for Brighton before going one better last season, may struggle to replicate those numbers this season, despite joining Chelsea in the summer.

The Brazilian should benefit from greater service at Stamford Bridge, but more than half (10) of his 19 league goals for the Seagulls came from spot-kicks, and if Palmer keeps netting from 12 yards, then Joao Pedro will find it difficult to get near the top of the scoring charts, although three strikes at the 2025 Fifa Club World Cup, and goals in back-to-back friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan, is encouraging.

Today's Football Fixtures

Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa) @ 25/1

Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins has hit double figures for goals in all six Premier League seasons he has played, a commendable achievement considering his side aren't one of the division's elite, but he's yet to hit 20 in a single campaign.

The 29-year-old recorded his highest total of 19 in 2023/24 before dropping down to 16 last term, despite playing all 38 league games.

It's hard to see him troubling the more illustrious names this season, but he's certainly a consistent source of goals.

Dominic Solanke (Spurs) @ 25/1

Dominic Solanke only managed nine Premier League goals in his debut campaign for Tottenham Hotspur, but he made just 27 appearances due to injury.

I'm expecting him to step up this season and hit 15+ in a reinvigorated Spurs side under Thomas Frank, who saw two of his forwards at Brentford last year, Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa, score 20 and 19 league goals, respectively.

Still, he's unlikely to threaten the obvious contenders.
