This weekend sees a return from the international break and with that, another exciting round of Premier League fixtures. Among the standouts are Forest’s visit to Arsenal, Manchester City’s clash with Tottenham, and a first glance at the new Manchester United project, promising drama and many potential upsets.

We’ll dive into this week’s Beat Fred, our free-to-play game consisting of six 50/50 questions on the weekend’s football action. I’ll review team stats, recent form, and tactical trends before rounding it all off with my accumulator of picks. Read on for my predictions and an acca worth considering.

6-Fold acca @ 48/1

Will Chelsea (a) be beating Leicester (h) at half time? - YES

Chelsea have been inconsistent this season, winning only once in their last five. Leicester will look to frustrate the Blues early on and capitalize on their home advantage. However, Chelsea’s midfield may control proceedings and create chances before the break.

Leicester might struggle to keep Chelsea at bay in the first 45 minutes, especially if Palmer returns well rested. A cautious YES here for the visitors to lead at halftime.

Will Bournemouth (h) score over 1.5 goals in their game against Brighton (a)? - YES

Bournemouth’s attack has been patchy, but home games have seen them produce some decent scoring moments, putting two past both City and Arsenal. Brighton, while solid in possession, have shown they’re vulnerable at the back, recording only three clean sheets so far.

With finding recent form, Bournemouth could push Brighton to the limit. Still, scoring twice against this side is a tall order, but I am leaning towards YES for Bournemouth to score over 1.5 goals.

Will there be under 10.5 corners in the Arsenal (h) v Nottingham Forest (a) match? - YES

Arsenal’s possession-heavy style and Forest’s preference for sitting back might reduce the number of corners in this game. While Arsenal will likely dominate proceedings, their ability to work the ball through central channels could limit corner opportunities.

Similarly, Forest’s counterattacks might not generate enough sustained pressure to increase the tally. This has all the makings of a low-corner game, so YES to under 10.5 corners here.

Will either Manchester City (h) or Tottenham (a) win, with both teams scoring in the match? - YES

City and Spurs have both been prolific in attack, but each has shown some defensive frailties recently. With the players involved and the history of the fixture, goals feel inevitable. The key question is whether one team edges out the other.

At home, City have the upper hand, but Spurs’ pace on the counter will make this interesting. I’m leaning towards YES, with City narrowly coming out on top in a high-scoring affair.

Will both teams score in the Southampton (h) v Liverpool (a) match? - NO

Southampton, struggling defensively, have nonetheless shown flashes of attacking promise. Liverpool, meanwhile, are always a threat in attack but occasionally vulnerable at the back.

With Slot’s side pushing forward, Southampton will look to capitalize on any gaps left behind but both teams scoring feels unlikely here. This one’s a NO for me.

Will the total number of goals be even in the Ipswich (h) v Manchester United (a) match? - YES

Ipswich have been fearless in their attacking play this season, even against tougher opponents. Manchester United, while inconsistent, have the firepower to add to the goals tally. Predicting an even or odd total is tricky.

Under new coach Amorim I’d expect to see a bounce back performance from United, I’m going for YES to an even total here, expecting United to win the game by two goals, 0-2 or 1-3.
