Portsmouth vs Sheff Utd Prediction: Hamer can strike again for Blades

Portsmouth’s start to life back in the Championship has been brutal. They’ve played four of the top-six, along with highly-fancied Middlesbrough and recently-relegated Luton Town. It’s been as tough as it comes, and John Mousinho’s men have picked up three points from those six matches.
Next up, they face another relegated side in the form of Sheffield United. The Blades have gone unbeaten so far, winning four and drawing two of their league games - a run that has put them in the top-six at this early stage.
Below you can find my Portsmouth vs Sheff Utd prediction, with betting tips and team news.

Team News
Mark O’Mahoney and Conor Shaughnessy could both return for Portsmouth this weekend, with the on-loan Brighton attacker certainly needed given Pompey’s lack of striker options. Colby Bishop is out for the foreseeable future after undergoing heart surgery, while Kusini Yengi has a groin problem so Christian Saydee has been leading the line of late. Callum Lang also went off injured in their 2-1 defeat to Burnley, and he will need to be assessed.
Sheff Utd could be without midfielder Oli Arblaster after he picked up an ankle injury and missed the win over Derby last weekend. Sai Sachdev is out for the rest of the campaign with a broken leg, but aside from that, Chris Wilder's squad has a clean bill of health.
Portsmouth vs Sheff Utd Match Odds
Pompey are priced at 11/4 to bag their first win of the season, while Sheff Utd can be backed at 5/6. A draw is also 11/4, over 2.5 goals is 4/5 and BTTS is 8/11.
Sheff Utd to win to nil @ 21/10
Sheff Utd have won their last three matches without conceding a goal, so it feels sensible to back them to record another clean sheet at Fratton Park, and a win to go with it. I just think that they have so much quality in their squad, with the likes of Callum O’Hare and Gus Hamer starting the season in cracking form.
Portsmouth’s attacking injuries also lead me to believe they will struggle to find the net against this tough defence. Michael Cooper has been a fantastic addition to Sheff Utd side in goal, while Anel Ahmedhodzic and Harry Souttar are forming a decent partnership at the heart of the defence. The away side can secure another three points on the South Coast.

Gus Hamer to score anytime @ 23/10
The best midfielder in the Championship has got off to a flying start playing in a more attacking role on the left this season for the Blades. He’s now scored four goals in six games so far, and struck the winner with a fantastic free-kick at Bramall Lane against Derby.
He’s a Premier League-level player who finds himself in the Championship again, and he should be a class above against Pompey. We are still getting decent odds on the man in form to find the net anytime.
