Porto and Barcelona are both seeking to make it back-to-back wins in the Champions League when they face off on Wednesday evening (20:00) at the Estadio do Dragao.

The Portuguese giants were comfortable winners against Shakhtar Donetsk on matchday one, while Barcelona stuck five unanswered goals past Royal Antwerp.

Porto vs Barcelona Prediction

  • Double chance – Porto/Draw @ 19/20
  • Mehdi Taremi to score anytime @ 13/5

Team News

Pepe is a doubt for Porto on Wednesday, as the veteran centre-back missed the clash with Benfica last time out, while Ivan Marcano remains a long-term absentee with a cruciate ligament rupture.

Evanilson, Gabriel Veron and Zaidu Sanusi all remain on the treatment table for the hosts.

As for Barca, Raphina is expected to miss three to four weeks with a hamstring problem he sustained against Sevilla at the weekend, while Frenkie de Jong and Pedri are still recovering from ankle and muscle injuries respectively.

Double chance – Porto/Draw @ 19/20

Porto have an excellent record at home in the Champions League group stage and could trouble an injury-hit Barcelona side that’s lost four of their last six away games in this competition.

Sergio Conceicao’s side haven’t lost at home since February and are unbeaten in their last three outings on their own patch in Europe’s premier club competition.

They’ve lost only three of their last 14 Champions League home games in the group stage and also have an excellent record when hosting Spanish opponents, winning five of the last seven encounters.

Mehdi Taremi to score anytime @ 13/5

Porto’s leading marksman has scored six goals in his last eight Champions League appearances, and opened his account for this season’s competition in the 3-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk on matchday one.

I think Taremi is a decent pick for an anytime goalscorer option having netted four in his last five games for club and country.

Barcelona have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last three away games, so I think that Taremi will get chances against the Catalonian outfit.
