Port Vale’s battle to avoid the drop from League One continues on Tuesday night when they play host to Wycombe Wanderers at Vale Park (19:45). Wycombe suffered Wembley heartbreak at the hands of Peterborough United in the EFL Trophy but have responded well since with a draw against Derby County and a win over Shrewsbury Town last time out.

The Chairboys have a good recent record at Vale Park and, even though they have no chance of promotion this season, they can strike another blow to the Valiants’ chances of survival this week. Here are our Port Vale vs Wycombe predictions, including team news and match odds.

Port Vale vs Wycombe Betting Tips

  • Wycombe to win @ 9/5
  • Dale Taylor anytime goalscorer @ 3/1

Team News

Dan Gore, Mitch Clark and James Wilson are all set to miss out for Darren Moore’s Port Vale, while Ryan Loft is a doubt as he continues to recover from an Achilles injury.

Uche Ikpeazu recently returned from a shoulder injury and after coming through the clash against Exeter City without any problems, he should start on Tuesday night.

As for Wycombe, manager Matt Bloomfield must continue without the injured trio of Kane Vincent-Young, Brandon Hanlan and Saxon Earley.

Matt Butcher and Kieran Sadlier were both dropped to the bench for the weekend's 2-0 win at Shrewsbury but the pair are pushing for returns to the starting lineup at Vale Park.

Match Odds

Port Vale are 6/4 to pick up three priceless points in their bid to avoid the drop, while Wycombe are 9/5 to come away from Staffordshire with the spoils.

A draw on the night is 12/5, while both teams to find the back of the net is available at 8/11.

Wycombe to win @ 9/5

After a confidence-boosting win on the road at Shrewsbury, Wycombe look capable of making it back-to-back wins on Tuesday night.

They face a Port Vale side that have managed just two wins in their last 20 games and still remarkably find themselves just three points away from safety.

Vale Park has been a happy hunting ground for the Chairboys in recent years, winning on their last two visits, including a 3-0 victory last time they clashed in Burslem.

Given Port Vale’s form in recent months, Wycombe are well priced to make it three wins on the spin at Vale Park in this one.

Wycombe to win at 9/5Dale Taylor anytime goalscorer @ 3/1

No attacking player has scored more league goals for Wycombe than Dale Taylor this season and the forward, who is on loan from Nottingham Forest, can add to his five League One goals for the campaign on Tuesday night.

The Northern Ireland international scored on the road at Peterborough United earlier this month and is worth considering in the anytime goalscorer market at 3/1.
