Plymouth vs Leeds Prediction: Whites can seal the title in style

Leeds United know that a victory against Plymouth Argyle at Home Park on Saturday (12:30, Sky Sports+) will seal the Championship title. The Whites are top of the table with 97 points, the same total as Burnley in second, but Leeds boast a +13 goal difference advantage coming into the final day.
The Pilgrims know they are effectively relegated already because their own goal difference is significantly worse than the other clubs battling for survival. Below you will find my Plymouth vs Leeds predictions, alongside the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Brendan Galloway (leg) is out injured for Plymouth coming into the weekend. Nikola Katic had to be subbed off in the victory over Preston North End last Saturday after trying to play through a leg injury. He will need to be closely monitored ahead of Saturday.
Fellow defender Julio Pleguezuelo was forced off with an issue and Argyle boss Miron Muslic could end up being short of defensive options against the league leaders.
Maksym Talovierov came on for the Spaniard late in the first half, so he looks set for a promotion to the starting XI at the weekend.
Muhamed Tijani is expected to lead the line for the hosts again, while attacking support may once again come from Ryan Hardie and Mustapha Bundu. Callum Wright will be hoping to have played his way into contention having scored from the bench at Preston last time out.
Plymouth vs Leeds Stats
- Leeds have won matches by four clear goals on five occasions this season
- Joe Piroe has three braces in the Championship this term
Leeds make the trip to Devon without Joe Rothwell (calf) and Pascal Struijk (foot) due to injury. Dan James has been struggling with a hamstring issue and has missed the last two matches as a result. The winger is considered a doubt for Saturday.
Willy Gnonto scored again in the Welshman's absence in the victory over Bristol City, and he should continue on the right side of the attack, alongside Brenden Aaronson and Manor Solomon, while Joel Piroe will continue to lead the line.
Ao Tanaka and Ilia Gruev are set to operate in the engine room once again, with the former being one of the standout stars in the Championship this season.
Plymouth are 10/1 to triumph here and they have won three of their last four fixtures in the second tier.
Leeds have drawn three of their past eight matches in the league and the stalemate is on offer at 5/1. The Whites are the 1/4 favourites to prevail, having won five games on the bounce.
The visitors have won without conceding in each of their last three appearances in the Championship and backing them to win to nil is marketed at 1/1, which has an implied probability of 50%.
Leeds -3 handicap @ 9/2
Leeds have been excellent this season and their attacking performances in particular have stood out. The league leaders have scored 93 goals in the Championship so far.
They are seven shy away from a century, which is not at all unrealistic for this game seeing as Leeds have already recorded a 7-0 victory this term - which came at home against already-relegated Cardiff City in February.
Leeds' attackers have been sharp in the recent victories against Bristol City and Stoke City, having netted 10 goals across the two fixtures. I think covering the Whites with a -3 handicap on Saturday offers good value because they are free-scoring at the moment and they need to win to guarantee they win the title.
I believe they can do it in style against an Argyle side that are all but relegated. The Pilgrims boast the worst defensive record in the division with 86 goals conceded to date and this figure could rise dramatically against the club with the best attacking figures.
For this selection to win, Leeds would need to win by four clear goals as Plymouth would be given a hypothetical 3-0 advantage. There have been five occasions this season where this has been a successful bet, with two coming in Leeds' most recent triumphs against Bristol City and Stoke.

Joel Piroe to score two or more goals @ 5/1
Piroe is a player who can play a direct hand in helping our first selection come to fruition as he looks to secure himself the Championship Golden Boot.
The Leeds striker is currently two goals clear at the top with a total of 19 but he has the chance to finish the campaign by hitting the 20-mark, which I'm confident he can do against the worst defence in the league.
Piroe scored an incredible four goals in the win over Stoke a couple of weeks ago to propel him to the top of the scoring charts and it is going to take something incredible from any of the players in the running to deny him this accolade.
I think he's worth backing to score at least twice against Plymouth given the form he is in, and he has already bagged three braces in the Championship this term. Piroe was also on the scoresheet in the reverse fixture at Elland Road, which Leeds won 3-0.
