They won all three group games, scoring eight and conceding just two in the process, and are known for their entertaining style of play.

Both teams have scored in eight of their last 10 games in all competitions and they were 4-3 winners over Crawley at the weekend in League 1.

They take on rivals Northampton less than two weeks after the pair met in the league with the Cobblers running out 2-1 winners in a tight game at home.

That was their only win from their last eight games in all competitions, however, and they may fall to another defeat here, which would be their fourth in their last eight games.

The visitors’ away form has been particularly poor this season, they are winless in their last seven road trips and Posh’s high-scoring ways could be enough to overpower these familiar opponents.

Peterborough have been extremely entertaining this season, particularly at home. Posh have seen six of their last eight games at London Road produce four or more goals and this cup clash looks set to follow suit.

Northampton can be exposed at the back, as they were in their 3-0 weekend defeat to Rotherham, and both teams are fancied to play their part in what looks likely to be another lively local derby.
