Two out-of-form teams go head-to-head at the Estadio Nacional de Lima in the early hours of Wednesday morning (00:30 bST) as Peru host Paraguay in 2026 World Cup qualifying.
Below are my Peru vs Paraguay predictions, as well as all the essential team news and match odds for the encounter in Lima.

Team News
Midfielder Erick Noriega and left-winger Kevin Quevedo picked up injuries for Peru against Uruguay and are set to miss Wednesday’s game.
Jesus Pretell could feature in Noriega’s absence, while Jose Rivera is a likely replacement for Quevedo out wide.
As for Paraguay, midfielder Julio Enciso and centre-back Fabian Balbuena were ruled out of September's squad due to meniscus and ankle issues, respectively.
Other than Enciso and Balbuena, Paraguay look to have a clean bill of health going into this one.
Peru vs Paraguay Predicted Lineups
- Peru - Galesse; Advincula, Garces, Abram, Lopez; Cabrera, Gonzalez, Pretell, Yotun, Rivera; Ramos
- Paraguay - Fernandez; Caceres, G Gomez, Alderete, Alonso; Sosa, D Gomez, Cubas, Almiron; Sanabria, Martinez
Peru are the 6/4 favourites for Wednesday’s encounter, while Paraguay are 5/2, or a 28.6% chance, to come away from Lima with the victory.
A draw at the Estadio Nacional de Lima is currently available at 7/4.
Peru vs Paraguay Stats
- The last two H2Hs have finished 0-0
- Peru are goalless in their last four WCQs
- Luis Advincula (PER) was sent off v Paraguay in Sept 2023
Correct Score - 0-0 @ 4/1
Going into this last round of matches, the fate of both these teams in qualifying has been sealed, with Peru failing to make the 2026 World Cup, while Paraguay will be heading to the major tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico next year.
With nothing on the line for either of these sides and given the recent record between these sides, unfortunately, this game might well be heading for a goalless stalemate.
The last two meetings between these teams have both ended in goalless draws, while Peru’s recent goalscoring record has been nothing to write home about in this qualifying campaign.
Scoring just six goals in 17 games, Peru have failed to score in any of their last four qualifiers.
The Peruvians have lost just one of their last 11 home games, showing they are tough to beat on their own patch.
However, with a lack of firepower in the final third, the 4/1 on offer for a goalless draw certainly catches the eye for this one.

Player to Receive a Card - Luis Advincula (PER) @ 3/1
With few or no goals expected in Lima, look to the cards market for Wednesday’s game and for Peru veteran Luis Advincula to add to his yellow card collection.
Notching up 26 yellow cards during his international career, including 13 in 50 World Cup qualifier appearances, Advincula is no stranger to being in hot water with officials.
Given his marching orders after two yellow cards against Paraguay in a goalless draw in September 2023, Advincula being carded on Wednesday would come as little surprise.
