Parma vs cagliari

A pair of struggling Serie A sides face off at the Stadio Ennio Tardini in Parma on Monday evening as the hosts welcome bottom-of-the-pile Cagliari. Parma have lost two of their last three in the league and have had players sent off in each of those games.

Cagliari boss Davide Nicola is a renowned survival specialist but his side have not scored in any of their last three Serie A assignments, although they earned a win in the Coppa Italia against Cremonese most recently.

Parma vs Cagliari Betting Tips

  • Parma to win and Under 3.5 Goals @ 15/8
  • Ange-Yoan Bonny to score first @ 13/2

Team News

Parma boss Fabio Pecchia looks set to be missing the services of Adrian Benedyczak and Alessandro Circati, while he has fitness concerns over Gabriel Charpentier, Nahuel Estevez, Mateusz Kowalski and Emanuele Vareri.

He can, however, look to Mandela Keita again, with the young midfielder having served a suspension, but Matteo Cancellieri was sent off at Lecce and sits this game out.

Cagliari are missing midfielder Matteo Prati and are sweating on the availability of Jakub Jankto, Leonardo Pavoletti and Mateusz Wieteska.

Match Odds

Parma are favourites to win at 11/10, while Cagliari are 12/5 to record a first Serie A success of the season and the draw is priced at 5/2.

There have been red cards in four of Parma's five league games and it is 10/3 about another one now. Both teams to score is 8/13.

Parma to win and Under 3.5 Goals @ 15/8

Cagliari have made a miserable start to the season and haven't scored in their last three league games. Indeed, Gli Isolani have managed to find the net only once all season in the league.

Confidence is low and last week's Coppa Italia win over Serie B side Cremonese won't have done all that much to lift spirits.

Parma's only win this season saw them defeating AC Milan at Monday's venue. They have scored eight goals in five games. Red cards in their last three have been a massive hindrance but they showed major character at Lecce as Pontus Almqvsit and Antoine Hainaut scored stoppage-time goals to earn an unlikely point.

They can kick on from that now and get a second league win of the season, particularly if they can maintain a full complement for 90 minutes.

Ange-Yoan Bonny to score first @ 13/2

French forward Ange-Yoan Bonny has made a super start to the season for Parma. He found the net in a pre-season win over Atalanta and has been buoyed by that, adding Serie A goals against Napoli and Udinese.

The 20-year-old attacker looks at home and is well on track to better last season's five-goal league tally. He gave Milan's rearguard a real workout in that win earlier in the season and was unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet himself, but his performance played a massive part in Parma's success. He's a solid contender to make the breakthrough on Monday night.
