England's last remaining hope at the 2025 Fifa Club World Cup, Chelsea, take on Brazilian side Fluminense, who dumped out Inter Milan 2-0 in the last 16, in their quarter-final tie at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Saturday (02:00 BST, DAZN/Betfred).

Below are my Palmeiras vs Chelsea Bet Builder Tips, where I have combined four selections for a 7/1 payout.

Palmeiras vs Chelsea Bet Builder Tips

Double Chance - Palmeiras or Draw

I was upbeat on Palmeiras' chances of reaching the knockout stage of this year's Club World Cup, successfully backing the Serie A side to top Group A ahead of Inter Miami, Porto and Al Ahly.

It was in the last 16 where I thought that may come unstuck, against either Paris Saint-Germain or Atletico Madrid. However, Botafogo edged out the Spaniards to finish as runners-up to the French giants and set up an all-Brazilian last-16 tie against Palmeiras, which the Verdao won 1-0 after extra time.

Chelsea are likely to represent a step up in class on all four of the sides Palmeiras have previously played, but it's not a test Abel Ferreira's side should be overly daunted by.

Football Odds

The Blues beat both Los Angeles FC (2-0) and Esperance de Tunis (3-0) convincingly, but between those wins came a harrowing 3-1 defeat to Flamengo, which saw them miss out on top spot in Group D.

Enzo Maresca's men took the lead against the Brazilians, but were completely outplayed in the second half, and that will be a worry for the Italian ahead of a last-eight tie with another Serie A side, Palmeiras, who will have watched the London club amble to a 1-1 draw with Benfica in regulation time of their knockout match last weekend, before going on to claim a 4-1 victory after extra time.

I'm expecting a close contest in Philadelphia, and Chelsea are severely weakened by the absence of influential midfielder Moises Caicedo, who is serving a one-game ban for an accumulation of yellow cards in the competition.

The loss of the Ecuadorian could see Palmeiras take the game into extra time, or even win the tie without an extra 30 minutes of action, so I'm backing the Verdao in the double chance market for the first leg of this Bet Builder.

Richard Rios (PAL) Total Shots - 2+

Estevao will grab most of the headlines leading up to this game, with the 18-year-old Palmeiras winger set to join his next opponents, Chelsea, after the conclusion of this tournament.

The Selecao international hasn't lit up the competition, though, and has been outshone by Colombia midfielder Richard Rios, who is the real driving force in their midfield.

Palmeiras vs Chelsea Odds

The 25-year-old is an industrious presence in the middle of the park, crunching into challenges and winning his fair share of free-kicks, but he does like to try his luck at goal, too, racking up seven shots so far. He recorded three efforts against Al Ahly, one against Inter Miami, and three against Botafogo, although one of his shots against the latter came in extra time.

Rios is unlikely to be substituted on Saturday, given his importance to Palmeiras, so he looks a good bet to take at least two shots against the Blues.

Palmeiras vs Chelsea Bet Builder Stats

  • Chelsea have failed to win two of their four CWC fixtures in regulation time
  • Richard Rios (PAL) has recorded 2+ shots in two of his four CWC outings
  • Reece James (CHE) has taken a shot in two of his three CWC appearances (scored vs Benfica)
  • Bruno Fuchs (PAL) has made three tackles in each of his two CWC games

Reece James (CHE) Total Shots - 1+

Chelsea captain Reece James appeared destined to be the match winner against Benfica last Saturday, catching out Anatoliy Trubin with a superbly-executed free-kick in the 64th minute to open the scoring in Charlotte.

The 25-year-old was withdrawn from the field 16 minutes later for Malo Gusto, but after a long weather-affected delay, Benfica struck in stoppage time, and the Blues had to overcome the Portuguese side in extra time instead, thanks to goals from Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

James is averaging 0.7 shots per game at the competition, with his only other effort arriving in Chelsea's opening match against LAFC.

The England international averaged 0.6 shots per game in this season's Premier League and 0.9 per game in the Uefa Conference League.

He's likely to be on set-pieces again, following his successful free-kick against Benfica, so I'm happy to back him to take at least one shot on Saturday.

Bruno Fuchs (PAL) Total Tackles - 3+

The fourth and final selection of this Bet Builder requires Palmeiras defender Bruno Fuchs to make at least three tackles, something he has managed in both of his Club World Cup appearances so far, despite only coming on in the 18th minute of his side's 2-2 draw with Inter Miami.

The 26-year-old made three tackles apiece against Inter Miami and Botafogo, and averaged 1.7 per game in Serie A last season for parent club Atletico Mineiro.

Today's Football Fixtures

Fuchs could be up against any of Cole Palmer, Pedro Neto or Noni Madueke in Philadelphia, and that should help him to keep up his three tackles per game average on Saturday, as he looks to stop the Chelsea forwards attacking down that side of the pitch.
