One of four Brazilian participants at the 2025 Fifa Club World Cup, Palmeiras, who qualified for the summer tournament by winning the 2021 Copa Libertadores, have been handed a favourable draw, with FC Porto, Al-Ahly and Inter Miami joining Verdao in Group A.

Below are my Palmeiras Fifa Club World Cup 2025 predictions, including an assessment of their squad and chances of winning the competition.

Club World Cup Team Betting Predictions - Palmeiras

  • Outright Winner @ 33/1
  • Reach the Final @ 14/1
  • Reach the Semi-Finals @ 6/1
  • Reach the Quarter-Finals @ 2/1
  • To Win Group A @ 15/8
  • To Qualify (Group A) @ 8/15

Group A: FC Porto, Palmeiras, Al-Ahly, Inter Miami

Fixtures: Palmeiras vs FC Porto (23:00 BST, June 15), Palmeiras vs Al-Ahly (17:00 BST, June 19), Inter Miami vs Palmeiras (02:00 BST, June 24)

Player to watch: Estevao

It will be four years this November since Palmeiras won the 2021 Copa Libertadores, yet their success in the competition has earned Verdao a spot at this summer's 32-team Club World Cup tournament, taking place in the USA.

Abel Ferreira's side, who won back-to-back Brazilian league titles before finishing as runners-up to Botafogo last year, are in good nick ahead of their trip stateside, winning 15 of their last 18 games across Serie A, the Copa Libertadores and the Copa do Brasil.

In America, Palmeiras will take on Portuguese powerhouses FC Porto, Egyptian giants Al-Ahly, and a David Beckham-backed, Lionel Messi-inspired Inter Miami in Group A.

It's an open group, with no club odds on to win it. FC Porto (11/8) lead the pack, with Palmeiras (15/8) in second, Inter Miami (3/1) in third, and Al-Ahly (10/1) last.

Club World Cup 2025 Odds

Certainly, Palmeiras will fancy their chances of reaching the knockout stage, as the top two teams in all eight groups qualify for the last 16. Top spot is also up for grabs, with FC Porto only finishing third in this season's Primeira Liga, 11 points behind winners Sporting Lisbon.

Inter Miami, meanwhile, have endured a difficult campaign so far, losing 5-1 on aggregate to Vancouver Whitecaps in their Concacaf Champions Cup semi-final tie and going four games without a win in MLS before beating CF Montreal 4-2 at the end of last month.

Al-Ahly lifted their third successive Egyptian Premier League title in May and will look to make life difficult for opponents, but the Cairo-based club don't possess the level of talent afforded to their group rivals.

Player to watch: Estevao

Brazilian wonderkid Estevao is already a big name in his homeland and South America, scoring 13 goals and registering nine assists in his first full league season last year. He's struggled to live up to those exploits in 2025, failing to score in 11 Serie A appearances so far this term, but he's notched four times in five Copa Libertadores group-stage games and made his debut for the Brazil national team in September.

The 18-year-old, who will join Chelsea after the conclusion of the Club World Cup, following a deal agreed upon in June 2024, will be desperate to end his time at Palmeiras on a high, and a strong showing in America, potentially against his future employers in the knockouts, could help 'Messinho' to break into the Blues' first team as soon as he touches down in England.

Football Odds

Prediction: To Win Group A @ 15/8

It's a three-way race to win Group A, and in my opinion, Palmeiras are great value at 15/8. Ferreira's side have been a model of consistency in Brazil for the last few years, winning back-to-back league titles before finishing second last season.

With a Brazilian international, Weverton, between the sticks, a hardened Paraguay international, Gustavo Gomez, in the middle of defence, and all-action Colombian midfielder Richard Rios behind the attacking talents of Estevao, Uruguayan winger Facundo Torres and ex-Barcelona striker Vitor Roque, Palmeiras have all the ingredients to top Group A and cause problems for teams in the knockouts.

However, reaching the quarter-finals could be beyond them with either Paris Saint-Germain or Atletico Madrid likely lying in wait.
