Over 2.5 Goals Tips: 10/1 five-fold across four leagues

The March international window is over, and that means a bumper schedule of football fixtures again this weekend, although the FA Cup quarter-finals mean there is no Premier League action.
I'm going global for Saturday's Over 2.5 Goals Tips, starting in Australia before making trips to Germany and Portugal and finishing in the USA and Canada.

Over 2.5 Goals in Melbourne Victory vs Adelaide United (08:35, TNT Sports 6) @ 2/5
Let's kick this one off in the morning by heading down under where Australia A-League Men's play-off hopefuls Melbourne Victory and Adelaide United meet at AAMI Park. Both sides are level on 33 points heading into this contest, although it's Victory that are a position ahead in fifth, albeit having played a game more.
Victory and Adelaide both lost last time out and will be desperate to return to winning ways this weekend, particularly the latter who are without a victory in their last five games.
Despite their poor form, though, the Reds haven't struggled for goals this month. They struck four times against Auckland and Macarthur FC either side of a 1-1 draw with Brisbane Roar, but they only managed to take two points from those three matches, drawing 4-4 with the Black Knights and losing 5-4 to the Bulls.
Melbourne Victory vs Adelaide United Stats
- Over 2.5 goals in 80% (16/20) of Adelaide's ALM games
- Over 2.5 goals in 52% (11/21) of MVC's 24/25 ALM games
- Five goals in January's reverse fixture (Adelaide 3-2)
Adelaide are joint-top (alongside Western Sydney Wanderers) of the ALM over 2.5 goals standings as 80% (16/20) of their games have produced at least three goals.
Victory are down in ninth in those standings, but over half (52% - 11/21) of their matches have gone over 2.5 goals, including their last two and three of their previous four.
Arthur Diles' side were involved in a high-scoring encounter with the Reds earlier this year as Carl Veart's charges won 3-2 at Coopers Stadium in January.
Over 2.5 Goals in VFL Wolfsburg vs 1. FC Heidenheim (14:30) @ 4/6
Relegation is a real possibility this season for Heidenheim, who have failed to scale the heights of 2023/24 when they finished eighth to clinch a Uefa Conference League berth. They only conceded 55 times in their maiden Bundesliga campaign but, with eight games remaining this term, have already shipped 52 goals.
Heidenheim claimed a crucial three points before the international break, though, beating fellow strugglers Holstein Kiel 3-1, the second time in their last four games that they had scored at least twice, and three of those went over 2.5 total goals. 58% (15/26) of their league matches this season have produced at least three goals, and one of those was against this weekend's opponents, Wolfsburg, who beat them 3-1 at the Voith-Arena on November 10.
VFL Wolfsburg vs 1. FC Heidenheim Stats
- Over 2.5 goals in 62% (16/26) of Wolfsburg's 24/25 Bundesliga games
- Over 2.5 goals in 58% (15/26) of Heidenheim's 24/25 Bundesliga games
- Four goals in November's reverse fixture (1-3 Wolfsburg)
Unlike their visitors to the Volkswagen Arena on Saturday, Wolfsburg are chasing the European spots and head into their next fixture just four points behind sixth-place Freiburg. Goals were a bit of a problem last season as only four clubs struck fewer times in the Bundesliga, but with 49 goals, they've already scored eight more times in 2024/25 than they did in 34 games in the previous campaign.
Their recent contests haven't produced many strikes, but only seven sides have seen over 2.5 goals land more times than Die Wolfe (62% - 16/26) this season. They should be able to regain some confidence on Saturday against, statistically, the joint-second worst defence in the division.
Over 2.5 Goals in Club Football Estrela vs Sporting CP (18:00) @ 4/6
Liga Portugal leaders Sporting should strengthen their pursuit of back-to-back titles with a routine victory over relegation battlers Estrela at the Estadio Jose Gomes on Saturday.
Sporting have won their last three games in the competition, all by a 3-1 scoreline, and their next opponents fell 2-0 at Guimaraes last time out to extend their winless run to four matches.
Club Football Estrela vs Sporting CP Stats
- Over 2.5 goals in 73% (19/26) of Sporting's 24/25 Liga Portugal games
- Over 2.5 goals in 35% (9/26) of Estrela's 24/25 Liga Portugal games
- Six goals in November's reverse fixture (Sporting 5-1)
Goals have been hard to come by in Estrela contests since early February, with their previous six seeing two or fewer strikes, but they've not played one of the big hitters in that period.
The last time they faced an elite-level opponent, Benfica on February 2, they lost 3-2 at home, and in November's reverse fixture against Sporting, they were thrashed 5-1 at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.
Sporting also won both head-to-heads in 2023/24, claiming a 3-2 success on home soil before triumphing 2-1 on their travels, and the division's top scorers, who have struck 70 times across their first 26 games - at least 11 more than any other side - will fancy their chances of putting a few more past a lowly outfit.
Over 2.5 Goals in Toronto FC vs Vancouver Whitecaps (20:30, Apple TV) @ 4/5
Over to Major League Soccer now, and first we go to BMO Field where two of Canada's three clubs in the competition go head-to-head. Toronto and Vancouver Whitecaps will arrive into Saturday's contest in contrasting mood with the former having picked up just a single point from their first five games this season, and the latter three points clear at the top of the Western Conference having won their first four before tripping up at home to Chicago Fire (1-3) last Sunday.
Vancouver's matches are averaging three goals this season, with the Whitecaps responsible for 10 of the 15 scored, and next up, they face an opponent they hit for four without reply last April. They've actually won the last three head-to-heads with Toronto in MLS with at least three goals scored in all.
Toronto FC vs Vancouver Whitecaps Stats
- Over 2.5 goals in 60% (3/5) of Vancouver Whitecaps '25 MLS games
- Over 2.5 goals in 80% (4/5) of Toronto's '25 MLS games
- Over 2.5 goals in last three MLS H2H's
The Reds, meanwhile, opened up their campaign with a 2-2 draw away to DC United before falling to four successive defeats. They've conceded at least twice in all five games and four of them have gone over 2.5 total goals.
Toronto could be in for another tough contest this weekend and I see a few goals being scored at BMO Field - the majority in the direction of the visitors.
Over 2.5 Goals in Colorado Rapids vs Charlotte FC (20:30, Apple TV) @ 4/6
Charlotte have made a strong start to their second season under Dean Smith, winning three of their first five games, including their last two. They've scored at least twice in all but one of their matches and smashed the San Jose Earthquakes 4-1 last Saturday, even without Liel Abada and Patrick Agyemang, who were on international duty with Israel and the USA, respectively.
With Wilfried Zaha on the left of their attack, Charlotte will back themselves against anyone in MLS, and they certainly will against the Colorado Rapids, who were downed 3-0 at home by the Portland Timbers last Sunday.
Colorado Rapids vs Charlotte FC Stats
- Over 2.5 goals in 60% (3/5) of Colorado Rapids' '25 MLS games
- Over 2.5 goals in 40% (2/5) of Charlotte's '25 MLS games
- Four goals in last year's MLS H2H (2-2)
The Crown have scored 10 goals this term - only Orlando City (13) and the Philadelphia Union (12) have struck more - and the Rapids could be in trouble this weekend.
Last season's head-to-head produced four goals, equally shared, as the two teams played out a 2-2 draw at Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium.
