We’ve got a whole feast of football to look forward to on Saturday including two seismic international friendlies and a whole lot of EFL action. Below, I have taken a look at the fixtures in the search for goals, and come up with our over 2.5 goals tips fivefold.

Over 2.5 Goals Tips - Saturday, March 23

  • Mansfield vs Colchester @ 4/9
  • Northampton vs Derby @ EVS
  • Salford vs Notts County @ 2/5
  • England vs Brazil @ 5/6
  • France vs Germany @ 8/11

Fivefold pays 11/1

Mansfield vs Colchester @ 4/9

League Two leaders Mansfield look set to get promoted this term, and they host Colchester in the early kick-off on Saturday (12:30). We usually stay away from backing the early kick-off, but we can’t stay away from the Stags.

No team in the league has scored more than they have (78), and they smashed five in against Bradford last week. Both teams have scored in seven of their last eight matches, and it’s not too long since they smashed nine past Harrogate on home soil. I think we could be in for another cracker at Field Mill.

Northampton vs Derby @ EVS

Derby have been in excellent form of late in League One, and are now up to second after their 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers. That wasn’t a high-scoring game, but given what was riding on it, we can forgive both sides for not being at their goalscoring best.

If we look to their previous results, the five before that 1-0 saw over 2.5 goals and Derby have now won four games on the bounce. I think they will win again here, with Northampton also struggling to keep clean sheets.

Salford vs Notts County @ 2/5

Another crunch League Two clash, and one that should feature lots of goals. County haven’t been in great form of late, but over 2.5 goals has come in during five of their last six games. They bounced back with a huge 3-0 win over Bradford to get back on track, while there have been over 2.5 goals in the last three Salford games.

England vs Brazil @ 5/6

Two of the world’s finest attacks meet at Wembley on Saturday night and we should get goals. Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Phil Foden, Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo and Endrick should all feature in what is a truly mouth-watering clash.

England haven’t been in great goalscoring form of late in terms of quantity, but they will want to send out a statement here. Meanwhile, Brazil have lost their last three games and are conceding plenty of goals. I feel we should see both teams on the scoresheet, and over 2.5 goals at Wembley.

France vs Germany @ 8/11

Germany beat France 2-1 in September, and I expect both teams to find the net again here. France have Kylian Mbappe, arguably the best player in the world up front and they should be able to tear through a Germany defence lacking confidence.

They haven’t won in their last three games, losing to both Turkey and Austria and I expect them to get beaten again here. But, five of their last six games have featured over 2.5 goals and their defence has been exposed by far worse teams than France. Mbappe could have a field day.
