Over 2.5 Goals Tips: Allianz Arena to open up with entertaining affair

After more than two months of inactivity, the Over 2.5 Goals Tips column returns this weekend, with plenty of leagues to choose from following the resumption of many competitions around Europe.

Below is Saturday's four-fold, which pays out at 5.42/1.

Over 2.5 Goals - Yes in Ulsan Hyundai Horangi vs Suwon FC (11:00 BST) @ 4/6

We start the day's action at the Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium in South Korea, where Ulsan Hyundai take on Suwon in the K-League 1.

Ulsan are in terrible form, failing to win any of their last 10 games (D3, L7), which includes three defeats in the group stage of the 2025 Fifa Club World Cup in June.

Suwon, meanwhile, have won their last three matches, and the 11th-place side are now just six points behind their next opponents, who are seventh in the 12-team standings.

Both clubs have scored 28 goals in 23 league outings this term, with Suwon finding the net - and conceding - in each of their last seven games. Ulsan have scored in nine of their last 10 league contests, but have kept just a single clean sheet in that period.

Only FC Seoul (33%) have seen a lower percentage of their matches finish with over 2.5 goals than Ulsan (39%), but four of their last five in the K-League 1 have produced three or more strikes.

Suwon (52%) are third in the over 2.5 goals table, with their last six games seeing the selection land.

Ulsan and Suwon drew 1-1 in March's reverse fixture, but there was a disallowed goal and penalty miss from the former, and the two previous head-to-heads had gone over 2.5.

Over 2.5 Goals - Yes in KaPa vs JaPS (14:00 BST) @ 2/7

Over in the Ykkosliiga, Finland's second tier, KaPa host JaPS at Brahenkentta in Helsinki. Only KaPa (ninth) sit between their visitors and bottom-side SalPa, but there is a fairly substantial gap between the clubs, with JaPS seven points better off after 17 games played.

Defence has been the biggest issue for both sides this season, with only KaPa (47) shipping more goals than JaPS (41); for context, SalPa have conceded 34 times.

KaPa haven't kept a single clean sheet in the league this calendar year, while JaPS have only recorded one, against Klubi 04, back on June 13.

Today's Football Fixtures

Saturday's hosts are joint-second in the over 2.5 goals standings, with 76% (13) of their 17 games finishing with at least three strikes, while JaPS are joint-sixth (59%).

Over 2.5 goals has landed in six of KaPa's eight league games this season, while it's been a winning selection in half (four) of JaPS' eight away outings.

The sides have met twice already in 2025, with KaPa romping to a 5-0 cup victory at Brahenkentta on March 2, before they played out a 2-2 draw in Jarvenpaa on June 6, marking the 10th straight head-to-head with over 2.5 goals; it last failed to land in September 2016, when KaPa won 1-0.

Over 2.5 Goals - Yes in FC Bayern Munchen vs Olympique Lyonnais (14:30 BST) @ 4/11

The only non-competitive contest in this acca, Bayern Munich welcome Lyon to the Allianz Arena for a pre-season friendly.

I've mentioned this before, but these games can be so tricky to predict, chiefly due to a high turnover of players.

Still, backing goals remains the best route to success for pre-season friendlies, and it's something I'm sticking with here as two teams with formidable attacks take each other on in Bavaria.

Earlier this week, Bayern added Colombian winger Luis Diaz, who struck 13 times for Liverpool in the Premier League last season, to a forward line already containing the world-class talents of Michael Olise and Harry Kane, with the likes of Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry still providing support. There will be no Jamal Musiala on Saturday as he continues his recovery from a knee injury sustained at the Club World Cup, but there is more than enough firepower to get supporters excited this weekend.

While this acts as Bayern's first summer friendly, Lyon played four times in the second half of last month, easing into things with a 1-0 victory over Villefranche and a goalless draw with RWDM Brussels before thrashing both Hamburg and Mallorca 4-0. Georgia international Georges Mikautadze, who scored 17 goals for Les Gones last season, found the net against Mallorca and will be looking to increase his confidence further with a strike in Saturday's game.

Bayern may be slightly rusty here, given that it has been nearly four weeks since their last match, while Lyon should be gearing up nicely now, so that should help to bridge the obvious gap in quality between the pair and produce an entertaining affair at the Allianz.

Over 2.5 Goals - Yes in Mirassol FC vs Vasco da Gama (22:30 BST) @ 6/5

Finally, we head to the Estadio Jose Maria de Campos Maia, where ground tenants Mirassol are facing Vasco da Gama in the Brazilian top flight.

Mirassol, who earned promotion from the second tier last season by finishing as runners-up to champions Santos, are 10 points clear of Vasco, who are just one spot above the relegation zone, in Serie A.

Saturday's hosts have been terrific going forwards, netting 24 times across 15 games - only leaders Flamengo (30) and second-place Cruzeiro (28), who have played one and two games more, respectively, can better that tally.

They've conceded 14 goals, though, and while over 2.5 goals has only landed in 40% of their league fixtures so far, that number rises to 57% at home.

Vasco, meanwhile, are joint-top of Serie A's over 2.5 goals table, with 53% (nine) of their 15 matches seeing at least three strikes (71% away from home).
