Newcastle United take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at St James' Park on Saturday afternoon (15:00) in the Premier League, with the Magpies looking for their first win in three matches in the top-flight.

Eddie Howe's side have gained confidence heading into this clash, after beating Blackburn Rovers on penalties to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals in midweek.

Wolves have won their last two three games against Brighton & Hove Albion, Sheffield United and Tottenham Hotspur. They beat the Seagulls in midweek to join Newcastle in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

They defeated the Blades 1-0 last weekend in the top-flight on home turf, and some were concerned that they didn't score more.

Newcastle vs Wolves Betting Tips

  • Anthony Gordon to score anytime - 7/4
  • Both teams to score - 8/15

Match Odds

Newcastle are the 9/10 favourites to win here. Wolves can be backed at 11/4, while a draw is priced at the same odds.

Both teams to score is valued at 8/15 and over 2.5 goals is 4/7.

Team News

Newcastle are without Nick Pope, Joelinton, Callum Wilson and Matt Targett due to injury. Sandro Tonali is still serving his 10-month suspension.

Wolves are missing star striker Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-chan for the trip to Tyneside.

Anthony Gordon to score anytime @ 7/4

When it comes to goals, only Alexander Isak (14) has scored more than Anthony Gordon's tally of nine in all competitions for Newcastle this season.

The former Everton man was on the scoresheet against Blackburn in regulation time in midweek and he also found the back of the net in his side's draw with AFC Bournemouth in the league two weeks ago.

With Isak returning to action from a recent setback, Gordon, who sometimes occupied the centre-forward role in his absence, is back in his natural left-wing position. This is where we have seen his best football in black and white colours.

In front of the raucous St James' Park crowd on Saturday, we're confident he can reach double figures for the season with a goal against the Old Gold.

Anthony Gordon to score anytime at 7/4

Both teams to score @ 8/15

With Newcastle playing at home, we have no doubt that there will be goals for them in this contest. Isak is back, Gordon's also been a regular source of goals this year, and although most of his season has been blighted by injury, Harvey Barnes offers a goal threat from the bench.

Their only concern is their defence. What seemed impenetrable last year isn't the case this time around. The Magpies have failed to keep a clean sheet in the league since December 16 when they defeated Fulham 3-0 at St James' Park.

Gary O'Neil's side head here with confidence after their FA Cup triumph, and they will fancy themselves to get on the scoresheet in this one.

Both teams to score at 8/15
