Newcastle United vs West Ham United Bet Builder Tips: 40/1 shot for home win

Newcastle United return to action following the international break with a home test against West Ham United at St James’ Park on Monday (20:00, Sky Sports Main Event). Newcastle won their last two games heading into the international break and will look to keep that momentum going against a Hammers side that have only won once on the road in the league this term.
Below you can find my Newcastle United vs West Ham United Bet Builder, as I take a look at the statistics to try and find a big winner.

Newcastle to win
A simple first selection but one I believe will come in. Newcastle are hot favourites to win this game and rightly so. They have beaten Arsenal at home and thumped high-flying Nottingham Forest away in their last two outings, so I think this will be the time that Eddie Howe’s men start to climb the table, and rapidly.
They currently sit eighth, but the gap between them and Chelsea in third is just one point, so they are well in Champions League contention once again. With Alexander Isak, Anthony Gordon and Bruno Guimaraes, they have serious quality moving forward and I just don’t think West Ham will be able to live with them.
The Hammers currently sit 14th in the table and haven’t won on the road since August 24. They’ve lost their last two away matches 3-0 and 4-1, against Forest and Tottenham Hotspur respectively, and I can’t envisage them getting anything at St James’ Park.
BTTS No
I also don’t think the Hammers will score in this one. They’ve only scored 13 goals in 11 matches so far, and have failed to find the net in their last two outings. The 3-0 defeat to Forest was poor, while the 0-0 against Everton was hardly inspiring.
Julen Lopetegui is facing criticism for how his side are currently performing and statistically according to xG, they are the 14th most creative team in the division. I think Newcastle can keep them out in this one.
Newcastle United vs West Ham United Odds
Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon to score
I’m expecting a pretty profitable evening for the Geordies, so it makes sense in my eyes to back their two key men to find the net. The Monday night schedule might actually suit both Gordon and Isak after their exploits on international duty, so I’m expecting them to return fresh and firing by the time kick-off comes around.
Now Gordon has only scored two Premier League goals so far, but he found the net for England during the break in the 5-0 hammering of Ireland and will fancy his chances against this leaky West Ham defence.
Meanwhile Isak has been on fire for club and country. Over the break he scored one legitimate goal against Slovakia and then had another hilariously disallowed by VAR against Azerbaijan. He’s also scored in his last three Premier League games so he is the obvious choice to continue that goalscoring form on Monday night.
Joelinton to get booked
It might make more sense to go for a West Ham player to get booked, but I’m going to back Joelinton to pick up a slice of cheddar. He has been booked four times already this season and so one more will see him pick up a suspension - but he’s been walking that tight-rope for the past five matches on the spin.
Joelinton going five games without a yellow is quite frankly a miracle, and it is only a matter of time before he gets booked. They face Crystal Palace next up, before taking on Liverpool, so if the Brazilian is going to get suspended, missing the Palace game would be preferable. This Bet Builder pays 40/1.
