Newcastle vs bournemouth

Newcastle United's impressive form looks set to continue when they welcome AFC Bournemouth to St James' Park on Saturday in the Premier League's early kick-off (12:30, live on TNT Sports 1).

The Magpies have now won a joint-club record of nine consecutive games across all competitions, following a 3-0 win over Wolves on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, the Cherries are unbeaten in their last 10 outings across the league and FA Cup. Read on for my Newcastle United vs AFC Bournemouth prediction, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

Fabian Schar missed the victory over Wolves due to illness, and there are no guarantees that the Switzerland international will return to the fold here.

Newcastle will remain without the services of Harvey Barnes, Nick Pope, Jamaal Lascelles and Callum Wilson due to injury. Alexander Isak will lead the line after his heroics in midweek, supported by the likes of Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali and Joelinton in the engine room.

As for Bournemouth, James Hill was substituted early in the Chelsea encounter due to a hamstring issue, but he's expected to recover in time for the trip to St James' Park.

Justin Kluivert will be pushing for a start after coming off the bench at Stamford Bridge to score his seventh goal of the season.

Newcastle United vs AFC Bournemouth Odds

Newcastle are 4/6 to make it 10 wins on the bounce, giving them an implied win probability of 60%, while the draw is 16/5 and a Bournemouth win is currently priced up at 4/1.

Unsurprisingly, after his brace against Wolves last time out, Isak tops the anytime goalscorer at 4/5 and Antoine Semenyo is the shortest-priced for the visitors at 3/1.

Newcastle to win and both teams to score - yes @ 9/5

Are Newcastle dark horse for the title? Probably not, given that they're nine points behind leaders Liverpool - who also have a game in hand - but they're recent form has seen them surge up the table, and they now occupy a place in the top four.

Eddie Howe's men cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over Wolves on Wednesday night and they should be too strong for the Cherries on Saturday as well.

The Magpies' six-game winning streak in the Premier League has included fine displays against Aston Villa, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, so the Toon Army will be full of confidence heading into the weekend.

Howe's former side are on a nine-game unbeaten streak in the top flight themselves, although they've had four draws during that run. However, Bournemouth have still produced wins over Spurs and Manchester United, and Andoni Iraola will also be pleased with Tuesday's 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

The Cherries have only failed to score in one of their last 15 outings across all competitions, so they travel to St James' Park carrying a goal threat, but I'm expecting red-hot Newcastle to come out of top and claim all three points.

Alexander Isak to score anytime @ 4/5

Isak is arguably the most in-form striker in Europe at the moment, and the Swede's recent form has been one of the main reasons why the Magpies have soared into a top-four spot.

The 25-year-old bagged a brace in Wednesday's win over Wolves, taking his league tally up to 15 for the season and he's firmly in the Golden Boot conversation heading into the second half of the campaign.

It wouldn't be a surprise to see him net for a ninth league game on the trot here, as reflected in his anytime price, as he became the first Newcastle player to score in eight successive Premier League contests on Wednesday.

The Sweden international is thriving at this moment in time, and he can torment the Cherries this weekend.
