A place in the 2023 Women’s World Cup quarter-finals is up for grabs when Netherlands Women take on South Africa Women in the early hours of Sunday morning (03.00) at Sydney Football Stadium.

The Dutch managed to top their group – which contained defending champions the USA – while South Africa pipped Italy by a point to second spot in Group G.

Netherlands to win both halves @ 11/8

The Netherlands will be brimming with confidence ahead of Sunday showdown with South Africa, after the 7-0 victory over Vietnam in their final group game.

Having suffered just three defeats out of their last 13 matches in all competitions, Netherlands look set for further success on Sunday especially as they have also picked up nine wins in the process.

In addition, the Netherlands have beat South Africa in all of their previous three duels, each time after leading at half time.

Lieke Martens to score anytime @ 11/10

Martens become the first female Dutch player to score at three consecutive World Cups with her goal against Vietnam, and so far, this feat has only achieved by football stars of the Netherlands men’s team Robin Van Persie and Arjen Robben.

That goal also made Martens the most prolific scorer of the Netherlands in World Cup history,  and she’ll have her sights on being a difference-maker here.

The Netherlands had a whopping 42 shots against Vietnam and while they may not enjoy the same attacking freedom against South Africa, it is certainly a game I expect them to be on the front foot in.
