The Netherlands entertain the Republic of Ireland in a Euro 2024 qualifier on Saturday night (19:45) and the hosts need to make the most of this game in hand they have over Greece as the two compete for the second qualification spot in Group B.

We've picked out a couple of markets ahead of this fixture that could be of great value to our punters.

Netherlands vs Ireland Betting Tips

  • Xavi Simons to score anytime - 7/5
  • Both teams to score - 6/4

Match Odds

The Netherlands are the clear favourites to win this match at the short price of 1/6. A draw is available at 6/1, while a Republic of Ireland victory can be backed at 16/1.

Both teams to score in this match is valued at 6/4, while NO is 1/2. Over 2.5 goals is priced at 8/13.

Team News

Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman has had to deal with several drop-outs from his squad due to injury. Nick Olij, Nathan Ake, Micky van de Ven, Ian Maatsen, Matthijs de Ligt, Brian Bobbey and Steven Bergwijn are all sidelined.

Ireland manager Stephen Kenny has brought up Andy Moran from the Under-21s due to some injury concerns for Will Smallbone and Jamie McGrath. Attackers Evan Ferguson and Chiedozie Ogbene are also doubts for the Netherlands clash.

Xavi Simons to score anytime @ 7/5

RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons heads into this international break full of confidence. The Dutchman has scored six goals and provided eight assists in 15 appearances across all competitions for the German club this season, but he is yet to score for the Netherlands in this Euro 2024 qualifying campaign.

This feels like a great opportunity for him to open his account. Ireland have been very disappointing in Group B and they have no chance of progressing to next summer's tournament in Germany via this route.

They will be low on confidence as they travel to Amsterdam and this is something Simons could exploit if he is named in the starting lineup.

Both teams to score @ 6/4

While we are expecting the Netherlands to come away with the three points that they crave in this contest, we do fancy both teams to get on the scoresheet. There were goals at both ends in their previous encounter in Dublin back in September and Ireland will be playing for pride on Saturday night.

The Netherlands should have more than enough quality to collect the win but Ireland have shown in glimpses that they can hurt their opponents; sadly it just hasn't been frequent enough in these qualifiers. The Dutch defence never seems the most organised and we can see Ireland punishing a lapse in concentration.
