Two teams at opposite ends of the table clash in Ligue 1 on Friday night, as relegation-threatened Nantes entertain high-flying Monaco (18:00 KO).

Monaco suffered Super Cup heartache in their opening game of 2025, as they were beaten by Paris Saint-Germain in the final, while Nantes returned to league action by grabbing an unlikely point at Champions League-chasing Lille. Below you can find my Nantes vs Monaco predictions.

Nantes vs Monaco Betting Tips

  • Monaco to win and both teams to score @ 13/5
  • Eliesse Ben Seghir anytime goalscorer @ 15/8

Team news

Nantes have a new first-choice keeper in the shape of veteran Anthony Lopes, who made his debut in the 1-1 draw with Lille, and he should retain his place.

Attacking duo Tino Kadewere and Adel Mahamoud are the only confirmed absentees for the hosts.

Monaco are without keeper Radoslaw Majecki, meaning Philipp Kohn is expected to deputise.

Wilfried Singo is available following suspension in defence, but Christian Mawissa Elebi, Folarin Balogun and Krepin Diatta are unlikely to feature.

Nantes vs Monaco odds

Monaco are clear favourites at 4/5 to get the better of 16/5 Nantes, with the draw priced at 5/2.

Both teams to score is available at 8/11, while it is 1/1 that doesn’t happen, and over 2.5 goals is on offer at 5/6.

Monaco to win and both teams to score @ 13/5

Monaco were involved in a title battle with PSG not too long ago but a run of four points from their last four games means they have lost ground on the leaders and qualifying for the Champions League is now the realistic goal for the season.

The Stade Louis II club head to a Nantes side who currently occupy the relegation play-off position, one point adrift of safety, but they have shown a bit of spirit of late with just one loss in their last four games.

Monaco’s form may have dipped a little but they have had a tough run of games and this trip to a struggling Nantes side looks like a good opportunity for them to get back to winning ways.

Les Rouge et Blanc ran out 4-0 winners when these sides last met at the end of last season and they should have enough about them to come away with all three points on Friday, but a clean sheet is less likely.

Nantes have scored in each of their last five games and have failed to score in just one of their seven home Ligue 1 fixtures, so backing Monaco to concede in victory looks a strong option.

Eliesse Ben Seghir anytime goalscorer @ 15/8

Monaco’s teenage forward Eliesse Ben Seghir has hit five goals in 16 Ligue 1 games this season and he has seven strikes in total across all competitions.

Two of Ben Seghir’s goals have come in his last three games and he’s averaging a hefty 2.4 attempts per-game, while he has managed at least one shot in all of his appearances in the league, so he appeals as a potential anytime scorer.
