Team News
African Footballer of the Year Achraf Hakimi has made just one substitute appearance at the tournament so far due to injury, so he'll likely have to settle for a place on the Morocco bench again here.
Ayoub El Kaabi will lead the line after bagging a brace against Zambia last time out, while Jawad Al-Yamiq and Sofyan Amrabat may also be drafted into the starting XI after being rested last time out.
As for Tanzania, Hussein Masalanga will start between the sticks, shielded by a back four of Dickson Job, Bakari Nondo, Ibrahim Hamad and Mohamed Husseini.
Selemani Mwalimu may be given the starting role up front, supported in attack by Feisal Salum, who scored against Tunisia last time out.
Morocco vs Tanzania Predicted Lineups
- Morocco: Bounou; Chibi, Aguerd, Masina, Mazaraoui; El Aynaoui, Ounahi; Diaz, Saibari, Ezzalzouli; El Kaabi
- Tanzania: Masaranga; Job, Mwamnyeto, Hamad; Mnoga, Miroshi, Msanga, Husseini; Salum; Mwalimu, Samatta
Unsurprisingly, Morocco are heavy favourites to win this contest in 90 minutes at 1/8, giving them an implied win probability of 88.9%. The draw can be backed at 13/2 and a Tanzania upset is 22/1.
Both teams to score is 2/1 and over 2.5 goals is 8/13.
Morocco vs Tanzania Stats
- Morocco have won seven of the last eight meetings between the sides
- Tanzania’s only win over Morocco came in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier
Morocco -2 @ 5/4
The recent head-to-head record doesn't bode well for Tanzania, as Morocco have won seven of the last eight meetings between the pair.
After a slow start to the tournament, the host nation appear to be clicking into gear at just the right time, dispatching Zambia 3-0 with relative ease in their final group game.
This is the second Afcon meeting between the two nations, following their group-stage encounter at the 2023 edition. Morocco won that match 3-0 and went on to finish as group winners, while Tanzania ended bottom of the group.
I think a similar scoreline could play out on Saturday, which is why I'm taking Morocco on the handicap market.

Correct Score - Morocco 3-0 @ 9/2
Following on from my first pick, I'm backing a correct score prediction of 3-0 to Morocco.
As mentioned above, Morocco won by that scoreline in the first Afcon meeting between the pair, and the host nation beat Tanzania home and away during their qualification campaign for this summer's World Cup.
The Atlas Lions haven't conceded a goal in the last four head-to-heads with Sunday's opponents, making this correct score pick a decent pick, in my opinion.
