Two European heavyweights collide in the Uefa Champions League on Tuesday (20:00, Prime Video) as AC Milan welcome Liverpool to San Siro. The Italian giants have started their Serie A campaign with five points from their first four matches, winning their latest encounter with Venezia.

Liverpool were handed their first league defeat of the season against Nottingham Forest at the weekend, so they will look for a response here. Ahead of this tasty fixture, I have thrown together a 15/1 bet builder for you to consider, which can be found below.

Milan vs Liverpool Bet Builder Tips

  • Both teams to score - Yes
  • Mohamed Salah 2+ shots on target
  • Rafael Leao 2+ shots

Milan vs Liverpool Odds

Both teams to score - Yes

Both teams to score, especially when it comes to the Premier League, has been hard to come by in games featuring Liverpool recently. One or both teams failed to score in the Reds' last five outings in the league. However, I think we can get some more joy from this market on the Champions League stage.

Despite needing their fourth match to get their first win of the season in Serie A, Milan have looked sharp in front of goal with nine goals scored. Liverpool themselves have seven in the same number of matches in the Premier League.

Both squads are filled with talented attacking players. The hosts have Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic and Tammy Abraham, while Liverpool have the likes of Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Dominik Szoboszlai to name a few.

There is going to be a lot of attacking and creative talent out on the field on Tuesday, and this fixture is one of the picks of the opening round in this competition, and I think that will be proven with goals at both ends.

Mohamed Salah 2+ shots on target

He may be 32 years of age but Salah continues to show that he is still Liverpool's main man. The Egyptian has had a fantastic start to the season with three goals and three assists in his opening four league appearances.

After Liverpool tasted a surprising defeat at Anfield at the weekend, Salah and his team-mates will look to conjure up an instant response at San Siro. As I have mentioned above I think these two seasoned European powerhouses can put on a show in this opening round of fixtures, and of course Salah will be integral for that.

In the Premier League so far, Salah has taken eight shots in total over four games, and six of them have hit the target. He is averaging 2.74 shots per 90, and 2.05 shots on target per game as well.

Milan defender Theo Hernandez is going to be in for a tough challenge on Tuesday as there are very few in football who can truly nullify Salah's attacking threat. I think the Reds talisman can dazzle in this iconic stadium and I am backing him to have at least two shots on target.

Football Odds

Rafael Leao 2+ shots

Another wide player who can have a fruitful game is Leao for the hosts. The Portugal international is one of the most exciting talents in Europe and he would love to flaunt his abilities in a clash of this magnitude.

While I don't think he's quite the finisher that Salah is for his side, he is still a player who can conjure up or receive goalscoring opportunities. In Serie A, the winger has registered nine shots (averaging 3.07 per 90) and four of them have been on target (1.39 per 90).

I think he can have an impact in this game, but I am more confident in Salah having efforts on target, so my play here is for Leao to have at least two shots in the match.

Wataru Endo to receive a card

Following the Reds' first defeat of the season, Arne Slot has suffered his first setback in the dugout, and now comes the task of finding a response in a tough trip to Italy.

Given that things looked a bit stale against Forest, and the intense scheduling that is about to come with there being eight games instead of six in this new phase of the Champions League, the Dutchman could make alterations to his starting XI.

Japanese midfielder Wataru Endo could be given his first start of the campaign to give respite to either Ryan Gravenberch or Alexis Mac Allister. It would be a big game to be thrown into for your first start of the season, and I think Endo could be found out as a result.

In the likes of Leao, Pulisic and Abraham, Milan have plenty of pace up front and I do worry that there could be a few occasions in which Endo will be overpowered and will be drawn into a handful of fouls.

From that, I can see him being drawn into a tactical one which will force the match official to hand him a yellow card. The player picked up 10 in the Premier League last year and one in the Europa League. He's no stranger to going into the book, so I think he's worth backing on this occasion.
