Mexico vs Bolivia Prediction: El Tricolor to take the victory in Chicago

Mexico take on Bolivia at Soldier Field in Chicago for an international friendly on Saturday in warm up to this summer's Copa America, which kick-starts in the USA in late June.
El Tricolor are in action for the first time since losing the CONCACAF Nations League final to the United States, so they will be looking to raise their confidence heading into this summer's tournament. Read on for my Mexico vs Bolivia prediction, including match odds and team news.
Mexico are the 2/5 favourites to win this match, giving them an implied probability of 71.5%. Bolivia are valued at 7/1, which gives them a 12.5% chance of victory. The draw can be backed at 7/2 (22.2%).
Both teams to score is marketed at 1/1 and over 2.5 goals is 8/11.
Team News
West Ham United midfielder Edson Alvarez is considered Mexico's top player and he will likely start in the heart of the side, to gain some rhythm ahead of the Copa America.
El Tri will be looking to Saintiago Gimenez this summer following the forward's 23-goal haul for Feyenoord in the Eredevisie. Questions were raised over manager Jaime Lozano's decision to omit Hirving Lozano, Raul Jimenez and Guillermo Ochoa from his provisional squad but time will tell if he made the right call.
Bolivia have no concerns heading into this friendly and they will be hoping for more of the same from Ramiro Vaca, who scored in their win over Andorra back in March.
Mexico to win to nil @ 6/5
As Mexico are the overwhelming favourites to win this match, I've had to look elsewhere for value. I have gone for El Tricolor to win to nil because they have more than enough quality to run riot against Bolivia, and with the Copa America just a few weeks away, they will want to head into the tournament with as much momentum as they can build.
This will need to begin in Chicago and looking back on the record of this fixture, you will see why I am inclined to go with this selection. Mexico and Bolivia have met 11 times in the past across all competitions and friendlies. El Tri have won nine of them and in six of them, they won to nil.
They have plenty of quality in attack that is sure to cause all sorts of problems for the Bolivian back line, while I'm confident that their own defence will be strong enough to hold back whatever threat Bolivia can conjure.
Over 1.5 Mexico goals @ 8/15
Of the 11 meetings between these two nations in the past, Mexico have found the back of the net at least twice in four of them, and two of those saw them win 5-0. The most recent was back in 2010 so a long time has passed.
But this doesn't change the fact that I see the current crop of players having the quality to score goals, after all, they were recent Nations League finalists so finding the back of the net shouldn't be a problem.
El Tricolor have also managed over 1.5 goals in three of their last four competitive outings, which bodes well for this friendly with Bolivia.
