Manchester United vs Bodo/Glimt Prediction: Amorim to get his first win

Manchester United will be aiming to secure their second win of the season in the Uefa Europa League when they welcome Bodo/Glimt to Old Trafford on Thursday (20:00, TNT Sports 2). The Red Devils had drawn their first three encounters of the new-look league phase, and this will be Ruben Amorim's first home game in charge.
Bodo/Glimt were beaten at home against Qarabag last time out, but they had picked up seven points in their opening three fixtures. Read on for my Manchester United vs Bodo/Glimt prediction, accompanied by the latest match odds and team news.
Manchester United vs Bodo/Glimt Betting Tips
Manchester United vs Bodo/Glimt Odds
Man United are 2/9 to win this match, which gives them a theoretical chance of 81.8%. Bodo/Glimt are valued at 12/1 to take the three points, giving them an implied probability of 7.7%. The draw can be backed at 11/2 (15.4%).
Both teams to score is marketed at 10/11 and over 2.5 goals is available at 2/5.
United duo Christian Eriksen and Amad Diallo have scored twice in the Europa League so far, and they are 7/2 and 8/5 respectively to score anytime on Thursday night.
Jens Petter Hauge has two goals in this competition for the visitors and he is priced at 5/1 to find the back of the net in this contest.
Team News
Amorim's injury concerns surround his central defenders, with Harry Maguire, Leny Yoro, Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez all out of action, although the latter could be in line to return at the weekend against Everton in the Premier League.
This could see Jonny Evans and Noussair Mazraoui feature with Matthijs de Ligt in a back three once again. After a long time without options at left-back, United now have Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia back in contention, and both will be eager to gain some minutes on Thursday.
Midfielders Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo weren't fit enough to start at Ipswich Town at the weekend so both could be rested again here so that they can have roles to play against the Toffees on Sunday.
Marcus Rashford played up front against the Tractor Boys but Rasmus Hojlund could get an opportunity to impress the new boss as the centre-forward against Bodo/Glimt.
For the visitors, they will be without Omar Elabdelloaui, Samuel Burakovsky, Daniel Bassi, Gaute Vetti and Syver Skeide for their first-ever meeting with the Red Devils.
Goalkeeper Nikita Haikin is expected to be busy in between the sticks again. He has made 24 saves in the four matches to date and no shot-stopper in the competition has recorded more. Midfielder Patrick Berg ranks highest for tackles (22) and interceptions (12), and he will have his work cut out for him in Manchester.
Man United and both teams to score @ 8/5
This is one of the biggest games in Bodo/Glimt's history and I think the occasion could get the better of them on Thursday as they should be in for a tough evening at Old Trafford.
United won on their last outing here in the Europa League, defeating PAOK 2-0, and they will be hoping for more of the same this time around. Of course that was under former chief Erik ten Hag, and his style is very different to what the new man Amorim is looking to implement in M16.
The Red Devils are also five games unbeaten at home across all competitions, and their last outing here saw them beat Leicester City in what was a comfortable 3-0 scoreline.
I think they will be able to win again, especially as it's Amorim's first game in charge at Old Trafford. He will be hoping to see more of his ideas translated on the pitch here after we saw glimpses of what he is after at Ipswich.
With the likes of Hojlund, Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho, the Portuguese coach has a lot of attacking talent at his disposal and there should be a few goals on offer to the home side on Thursday.
I've boosted the odds by adding both teams to score because I think Bodo/Glimt can cause a side still in transition some problems. The Norwegian outfit have already sprung a surprise away from home in this competition, beating SC Braga. They will fancy their chances to get on the scoresheet at Old Trafford having found the back of the net in three of their four fixtures to date.

Patrick Berg to receive a card @ 3/1
Berg has been an important figure for the visitors in their European campaign, but he is walking a tightrope as he heads to Manchester on Thursday. The midfielder is approaching his third yellow card, which will see him suspended for the home clash against Besiktas if he picks one up against United.
He has collected two bookings in four matches and he has committed three fouls in that time. This would suggest that his challenges are on the more reckless side, in which he does not leave officials with much of a choice when it comes to putting him in the book.
With Amorim's United looking to suffocate opponents with their press, Berg could become under a lot of pressure in the middle of the park on Thursday. If the hosts force a high turnover, he could be forced into a position of having to take one for the team and snuffing out a United break, which could end up him picking up the dreaded third yellow card.
