Man Utd open their Premier League campaign with an Old Trafford clash against Wolves on Monday 14 August (20:00).

The Red Devils have added Rasmus Hojlund, Mason Mount and Andre Onana in a bid to get into a title-challenging position and Erik ten Hag will be keen to start with a victory.

It’s been a chaotic summer for Wolves, who have lost a whole host of key players and have also seen manager Julen Lopetegui depart Molineux.

Over 2.5 goals

Man Utd had problems in the centre-forward position last season and that limited the Red Devils to only 36 Premier League goals at Old Trafford.

However, Marcus Rashford, Antony, Bruno Fernandez and Jadon Sancho are seriously talented attacking performers and those forwards now have a focal point and a striker to stretch defenses in Rasmus Hojlund.

The Dane was signed from Atalanta in a big money deal and United can also call on Mason Mount this season.

Wolves have had a chaotic summer and their preparations for this tie look far from ideal. That could lead to a pretty comfortable victory for Ten Hag’s side and backing over 2.5 goals looks a good way to support that eventuality.

This game is likely to be relentless Man Utd pressure and with the pace of Hojlund, Antony and Rashford in attack it could lead to plenty of corners.

The Red Devils will have to go wide in order to break down what is likely to be a compact and packed Wolves defence and over 6.5 Man Utd flag kicks looks a play.

Nelson Semedo to be shown a card

Only the departed Ruben Neves was shown more yellow cards in a Wolves shirt than Nelson Semedo last season and the full-back looks a solid booking option.

The Portuguese was given 11 cautions and dismissed once in 37 appearances for Wolves last term, and while the 29-year-old offers an attacking outlet, he is often caught up the pitch and that leads to yellow cards.

Man Utd are likely to dominate this Old Trafford clash, which could mean a busy day for Semedo and referee Simon Hooper.

Antony to score at any time

It will be interesting to see how Man Utd deploy the likes of Fernandez and Mount, but Antony is likely to provide penetration in wide areas and the 23-year-old looks a value anytime scorer play.
