Manchester United host Tottenham Hotspur in a thrilling Super Sunday clash at Old Trafford (KO, 16:30), in a game that could see the visitors cut the lead to the top of the table to just three points.

United are looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League after their defeat to Nottingham Forest at the end of December, while Spurs' last result in the league saw them beat Bournemouth 3-1.

Man Utd vs Tottenham Prediction

  • Spurs to win @ 2/1
  • Bruno Fernandes to be booked @ 2/1

Team News

For the hosts, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Casemiro, Mason Mount, Tyrell Malacia and Victor Lindelof are all ruled out, while Sofyan Amrabat is at the Africa Cup of Nations.

As for the visitors, Ben Davies, James Maddison, Ivan Perisic, Alejo Veliz and Manor Solomon are sidelined through injury, while Giovani Lo Celso and Cristian Romero will be subject to fitness tests.

Yves Bissouma, Pape Matar Sarr and Heung-min Son are on international duty, but Timo Werner could make his Spurs debut after his arrival on loan from RB Leipzig.

Match Odds

Man Utd are 23/20 to win the game, the draw is 11/4, and Spurs are 2/1 to claim all three points.

Over 2.5 goals can be backed at 4/9, while both teams to score is 2/5.

Spurs to win @ 2/1

Speaking as a fan, it's incredibly difficult to predict which Manchester United will show up these days.

All the momentum and goodwill that Erik ten Hag built up over last season seems to have completely evaporated, and while the 2-0 win over Wigan in the FA Cup was more of a 'routine' result and performance, I'm not going anywhere near the 23/20 here for a United win.

Spurs won the reverse fixture between the sides 2-0 earlier on in the campaign, and United are struggling for consistency - they've won just three of their last 10 games in all competitions, and managed to pick up just four points from their last five outings in the Premier League.

The visitors knocked Burnley out of the FA Cup last weekend and have won five of their last six in all competitions, leaving them only one point off a top-four spot and still in the Premier League title race. Despite the absence of Heung-min Son, I think 2/1 is a cracking price for a Spurs win.

Bruno Fernandes to be booked @ 2/1

I'm taking a look at the cards market next, and United's talisman likes to wear his heart on his sleeve, which can lead to a caution or two.

He's picked up seven bookings this season, including three in his last six games, and he could cut a frustrated figure watching Spurs knock the ball around at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Bruno Fernandes to be carded at 2-1
