Paul Robinson took the spotlight away from criticism of newly-appointed Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes to shine it firmly on forwards Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Antony.

The former England goalkeeper told Betfred TV that the trio have all been underperforming so far this season.

The ex-Spurs and Leeds stopper went as far as to say none of them have had an impact in the first three games of the campaign.

But Robinson defended Fernandes, who he said leads by example, on the Talking Points show.

“You do have to question his body language,” said Robinson about the Portuguese midfielder. He added that United, who he tipped for a top-four Premier League finish, have had an “underwhelming” transfer window.

Robinson also hailed how West Ham are coping having sold Declan Rice to Arsenal, saying that David Moyes has them playing differently, if not better.

He added: “I don’t think they [West Ham] will be fighting relegation because there are four or five teams worse than them.”
