Man Utd vs Burnley

Manchester United will be looking to make it back-to-back victories in the Premier League when they welcome Burnley to Old Trafford on Saturday (15:00) afternoon.

The Red Devils were 4-2 winners against Sheffield United in midweek, while 19th-placed Burnley's most recent outing was also against the Blades, beating their fellow strugglers 4-1 at Bramall Lane last Saturday. Below you can find my Man United vs Burnley prediction, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Man United vs Burnley Prediction

  • Man United to win and both teams to score @ 7/5
  • #PickYourPunt - Bruno Fernandes to score anytime, over 32.5 total shots and over 3.5 total goals @ 5/1

Team News

United will continue to be without the services of Tyrell Malacia, Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, Jonny Evans, Raphael Varane and Willy Kambwala.

Marcus Rashford missed the midweek win over Sheffield United due to an injury he sustained in the FA Cup semi-final triumph over Coventry City, and it remains to be seen as to whether he'll be fit enough to be in involved here. Erik ten Hag did hint that Mason Mount was close to returning to the side, however.

As for Burnley, Aaron Ramsey, Jordan Beyer, Nathan Redmond, Ameen Al-Dakhil and Luca Koleosho all remain unavailable for selection this weekend. However, Hjalmar Ekdal returned to the squad against Sheffield United last week, after limping off against Brighton, so he could be involved at Old Trafford.

Match Odds

The hosts are favourites to claim another three points at 4/9 - or a 69.2% theoretical chance - while Burnley are 9/2 to pick up what could be a vital win in the race against the drop, and the draw can be backed at 100/30.

United were 1-0 winners at Turf Moor in the reverse fixture back in September, and a repeat of that scoreline is currently priced up at 10/1.

Man United to win and both teams to score @ 7/5

I picked out this bet when previewing United's clash with Sheffield United earlier this week, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it come in again on Saturday - both teams have scored in nine of United's home league games so far this campaign.

It feels like the Red Devils haven't kept a clean sheet since last season, and they've conceded 13 goals in their last five matches across all competitions. Ten Hag's side look less than convincing in midweek, having to come from behind twice against the Blades.

Burnley have looked doomed for relegation for much of the campaign, but one defeat in their last seven offers some hope of retaining their Premier League status.

Vincent Kompany's side have found their shooting boots in recent weeks too, bagging six in their last seven games, and the four they put past Sheffield United last weekend will give them confidence that they can get something at Old Trafford.

Despite United's defensive frailties, they should still have too much for the Clarets here, who have lost 21 of their 34 league outings this term.

United to win and BTTS at 7-5

#PickYourPunt - Bruno Fernandes to score anytime, over 32.5 total shots and over 3.5 total goals @ 5/1

I think this game will be full of goalmouth action, as five of Manchester United’s last seven Premier League games have gone over 3.5 goals, and Burnley have conceded the third-highest amount of goals this season with 69.

The Red Devils' defensive issues have been well-documented this term, and they're conceding an average of 17.7 shots-per-game in the league, which the visitors will surely be encouraged by.

I picked out Bruno Fernandes to score anytime in my preview for Wednesday's clash against Sheffield United, and the Portugal international bailed out his side with a brace and an assist, as he's done so many times before.

The 29-year-old is now the Red Devils' top goalscorer for the campaign with 10 across all competitions, and he'll fancy his chances of netting once again here.
