Manchester City have the opportunity to go top of the Women’s Super League with a victory over arch-rivals United at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday (12:30).

Gareth Taylor’s side are looking for their 11th straight league win, but United would love to spoil the party and have little option but to attack as they try and stay in the race for European qualification.

Below is all the latest team news and match odds ahead of this Women's Super League match, as well as our Man City Women vs Man United Women prediction.

  • Man City Women-Man City Women half-time/full-time @ 13/10
  • Man City Women to win 3-1 @ 10/1

Team News

City could go into the game with the same team who beat Brighton 4-1 last week as Taylor has no fresh injury or suspension concerns. Jill Roord remains a long-term absentee.

United’s Leah Galton is ruled out with a tight strain, while Emma Watson, Jess Sampson, Gabby George and Hinata Miyazawa are all missing.

Match Odds

With City aiming to go top of the table, it is no surprise to see them at 1/2, or a 66.7% chance to take three points. United are 4/1, or a 20% chance to claim a victory, while the draw is available at 16/5.

Goals are expected, with 4/6 available for both teams to score, while a City win with more than 2.5 goals is 23/20.

A repeat of their 3-1 win at Old Trafford in November is a 10/1 chance.

City’s 3-1 win over United at Old Trafford was the catalyst for a great run of WSL results and they should be confident that they can go top of the table with a repeat success over their neighbours on Saturday.

A 4-1 win at Brighton extended their winning run to ten games last week and the fact they have been knocked out of both the League Cup and FA Cup in the last few weeks, means that Gareth Taylor’s side can be fully focused on winning their first title since 2016.

While the 1/2 about them winning is not huge, it could pay to back them to be leading both at half-time and at the end of the game.

That has happened in eight of their ten victories and, willed on by a big crowd, they should be encouraged to make a fast start.

United need to be positive too, as that will be their only chance of gaining a top-three spot which would secure European football for next season.

City have lost just one of their last 27 league home games, but they have kept just four clean sheets in their last 18 on their own patch.

The home side’s class should tell in the end and they have scored at least twice in 12 of their last 14 home league games, so an open affair looks likely and it is worth chancing another City 3-1 win at 10/1 in the correct-score market.
