Manchester City return to Premier League action on Saturday afternoon (15:00) when they host Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium.

City have taken maximum points from their opening five games and are strong favourites to extend that run given Forest’s pitiful away record since winning promotion to England’s top-flight last year.

Steve Cooper’s side did recently manage to beat Chelsea on their travels but overturning the champions is a different task altogether.

Man City vs Nottingham Forest Prediction

  • Man City to win and both teams to score @ 7/4
  • Erling Haaland to score first @ 9/5

Team News

Bernardo Silva picked up a knock in City’s Champions League win over Red Star Belgrade, while Jack Grealish, Mateo Kovacic and John Stones are also absent.

As for Forest, Danilo and Serge Aurier missed their draw with Burnley and could duly sit out of the trip to East Manchester.

Manchester City to win and both teams to score @ 7/4

City have been perfect so far in the Premier League, winning all five of their matches up until this point.

Pep Guardiola’s side did win the corresponding fixture 6-0 last season, but they’re coming into this clash after a midweek European game and I believe that Forest are a better side nowadays.

Despite City’s perfect record so far, they have conceded in each of those five outings, and they will take on a Forest side who are yet to draw a blank in the Premier League, despite facing two of last season’s top four already

I think City will have too much quality in the end for Forest, so I’m taking a City win and both teams to score.

Erling Haaland to score first @ 9/5

The price for Haaland to score anytime was far too short for my liking (even though it feels inevitable most matches), so I’ve gone for the Norwegian to score first here.

Haaland has now scored 43 goals in just 40 Premier League appearances for Manchester City, and he continues to improve on his tally for Guardiola’s side.

He has seven Premier League goals to his name after just five games, and scored a hat-trick in the corresponding fixture last season, so I think he will find some joy here against a Forest defence that are probably still having nightmares about him.
