Atletico Madrid are closing in on securing fourth place in La Liga, having seen off Athletic Bilbao at the Metropolitano last weekend. That win opened the gap to fifth-placed Athletic to six points, while also giving Atleti the head-to-head tiebreaker.

Saturday’s visit to Mallorca is the first of their five-game run-in. Having struggled on their travels throughout the campaign, can Atleti secure a win at the Islanders?

Mallorca vs Atletico Madrid Betting tips

  • #PickYourPunt - Angel Correa to score anytime & Matija Nastasic to be carded @ 15/2

Team news

Mallorca are without central defender Copete, who missed the 1-1 draw with Cadiz last weekend. The visitors should stick with the same defensive set-up as last week, but one of Cyle Larin or Nemanja Radonjic is likely to come into the starting line-up as a second striker.

Atleti are without the suspended Antoine Griezmann for this trip, while Memphis Depay is out injured. That means Angel Correa can continue his run in the side, having hit a good run of form.

Match Odds

Atletico are 23/20 to claim a victory on the road, with the draw available at 21/10, while a victory for the home side is priced at 11/4.

A 1-1 draw can be backed at 11/2.

Both teams to score @ 1/1

Atletico have been in fine scoring form of late and they’re creating plenty of chances, but they look vulnerable at the back. Diego Simeone has been shifting away from their old style in recent years and that’s left this Atleti side looking poor defensively, having conceded 21 times across their 16 trips.

Atletico have seen both teams score in five of their last six matches in all competitions and they meet a Mallorca side who have found the net in four of their last five at home.

The hosts missed the chance to capture silverware in the Copa del Rey final and they’ve been a little off in the weeks since. However, they continue to pose a threat going forward and they’re likely to set up a little more adventurously in this clash.

#PickYourPunt - Angel Correa to score anytime & Matija Nastasic to be carded @ 15/2

Atletico have seen both Griezmann and Alvaro Morata struggle in front of goal of late. Correa has stepped up in their place, making the most of his recent run in the side by scoring in three of their last four games.

The forward has scored vital goals in wins over Girona and Athletic and he also notched away to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. He looks good to continue that hot streak at Mallorca, so Corra to score anytime is the first half of our 13/2 #PickYourPunt tip.

Former Man City defender Matija Nastasic has picked up nine yellow cards for Mallorca this term and he’ll have his hands full against Atleti. The centre-half will likely spend time covering both Morata and Correa, alongside any midfield runs from the visitors.

Nastasic has been booked five times across 13 home appearances in all competitions this season, with four of those coming in La Liga. He’s picked up a card in three of their last four home games, so back him for another caution.
