Luton Town will look to improve their survival chances in the Championship when they welcome Blackburn Rovers to Kenilworth Road on Saturday (15:00). The Hatters are unbeaten in their last five matches coming into this contest, while they also haven't been beaten in their previous four home fixtures.

Blackburn came from two goals down to salvage a point at home to Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday, but they had lost six of their past seven games before that stalemate. Read on for my Luton vs Blackburn predictions, supported by the latest match odds and team news.

Team News

Luton's Marvelous Nakamba and Jacob Brown have been ruled out for the rest of the season with knee and ankle injuries respectively. Shandon Baptiste (calf), Teden Mengi (knee), Tom Lockyer (ankle) and Elijah Abebayo are also ruled out for this clash, limiting Matt Bloomfield's options.

It doesn't seem to be hampering them too much given their current form. Tahith Chong joined Carlton Morris up front against Stoke City in midweek but with Millenic Alli scoring the equaliser late on, Bloomfield may promote him to the starting XI against Rovers.

Liam Walsh, Jordan Clark and Thelo Aasgaard should line-up in the middle of the park. with width coming from the energetic wing-backs Alfie Doughty and Isaiah Jones.

Luton vs Blackburn Stats

  • Luton are unbeaten in five games in the Championship
  • Blackburn are winless on the road in seven of their last eight away trips in the league

Blackburn's Joe Rankin-Costello was forced off through injury against Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday. He joins a stacked medical room, which features Augustus Kargbo, Owen Beck and Emmanuel Dennis, who are all struggling with hamstring issues.

Callum Brittain (calf), Harry Leonard, Zak Gilsenan and Scott Wharton remain long-term absentees for Rovers, while Hayden Carter and Andrea Weimann are also sidelined.

Bar a change at right-back because of Rankin-Costello's injury, Valerien Ismael may be tempted to stick with the same team to face Luton, having dug deep to rescue a point against Sheffield Wednesday last time out.

One other alteration he may consider is bringing Makhtar Gueye into the line-up to give his team a physical edge against Luton's back three.

Luton vs Blackburn Odds

Luton are 10/11 to win this game, which seems low considering they have won only three of their last seven league encounters. This must be in light of the fact that Blackburn's away record has been poor in recent months, with just one win in eight attempts.

The visitors are 23/10 to come away with the three points here, which again is quite low given that particular statistic.

Luton have drawn three of their previous four matches in the second tier and the stalemate is marketed at 9/4, which has an implied probability of 30.8%).

At least one team has failed to score in three of Rovers' last four away contests in the Championship, and BTTS No is priced at 8/11 for Saturday.

Luton to win to nil @ 15/8

You may look at this tip and think I've gone mad or I've made a mistake but I'm afraid it's neither. I do think we could see Luton win and keep a clean sheet on Saturday.

Their form is improving under Bloomfield and they find themselves just to points away from safety with five games left to play. They face a Blackburn side who are nowhere near as good as they were earlier in the campaign under former boss John Eustace, now in charge of the team Luton need to close down in Derby County.

Rovers supporters are not convinced by Ismael or the continued failing leadership at the club in the boardroom and beyond, and six defeats in eight speaks for itself.

The visitors are in poor form but they are in no immediate danger when it comes to relegation as they are 11 points clear as things stand. Their strong start to the season should be enough to save them from any late drama this year, but there will be plenty of concern surrounding their fate in 2025/26.

Luton are desperate for points as they are on the brink of dropping down to League 1. The Hatters are in far greater need of the points and I think this will be reflected in the scoreline.

The reason I think they are worth backing to win to nil is because Blackburn have failed to score in two of their previous three league games coming into this, as well as three of their last four away trips in the second tier.

Under 2.5 goals @ 8/13

Similarly, to those reasons I mentioned in my first selection, I think under 2.5 goals could be a smart punt on Saturday. Three of Blackburn's most recent away matches have produced fewer than three goals, while two of their previous three fixtures coming into this have delivered under 2.5 goals.

For Luton, each of their past four appearances in the league have seen fewer than three goals scored, while this has been a winning selection in each of their previous eight home matches in the Championship.

Everything seems to point towards a low-scoring affair at the Kenny.
