Manchester City continue their quest for an eighth FA Cup success when they travel to Kenilworth Road to take on Luton Town on Tuesday evening.

The Cityzens have already beaten Huddersfield Town and Tottenham to reach the fifth round, while Luton needed a replay to get past League One Bolton Wanderers before they beat Everton 2-1 away from home.

Pep Guardiola's side ran out 2-1 winners when the teams met in Bedfordshire in December and a similar scoreline could be repeated on Tuesday.

Luton vs Man City Betting Tips

  • Manchester City to win and both teams to score @ 7/4
  • Julian Alvarez to score anytime @ 9/5

Match Odds

Despite having home advantage, Luton are the 9/1 underdogs to win and secure their spot in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. The Hatters will look to make life difficult for City, and those who expect a close game can back the draw in 90 minutes at 9/2.

City are as short as 3/10 to win the contest at Kenilworth Road, while striker Erling Haaland is the 4/6 favourite to score anytime.

Over 2.5 goals is 8/15, while both teams to score is available at 5/6.

Team News

Luton boss Rob Edwards will be without Mads Andersen, Jacob Brown and Marvelous Nakamba for the game, while Albert Sambi Lokonga and Alfie Doughty require late fitness tests.

Edwards may give a few of his fringe players a chance to shine, meaning Tim Krul, Andros Townsend and Reece Burke could all start.

Guardiola will be unable to call upon the services of Josko Gvardiol due to an ankle problem, but he has an otherwise fully fit squad to choose from.

Kyle Walker, Kevin De Bruyne, Julian Alvarez and Jeremy Doku were all rested for Saturday's 1-0 win over Bournemouth and could return to the fold for Tuesday's encounter.

Manchester City to win and both teams to score @ 7/4

Luton will hope to become the first team in six years to prevent City from reaching the last eight, but it looks a tall order for Edwards' side.

The Citizens are unbeaten in their last 17 games in all competitions and look to be shaping up nicely at the right time of the season.

Luton have lost three games on the spin in the Premier League, two of those coming at home, and they will not be able to match City's quality in any area of the pitch.

While they should fall short, the Hatters have every chance of finding the back of the net. Edwards' side have scored in eight consecutive matches in all competitions, while they have already scored past the Citizens this season in their 2-1 defeat in December.

Guardiola's men have been vulnerable at the back, keeping just five clean sheets on the road in 20 games in all competitions and could concede again.

Man City and both teams to score at 7/4

Julian Alvarez to score anytime @ 9/5

Argentina international Alvarez is likely to return to the starting XI on Tuesday and he will give the Luton defence plenty of problems to deal with.

The 24-year-old has scored eight goals in 26 appearances, but he is durable and should Guardiola choose to rest Haaland at any point, Alvarez will likely move into the striker role.

He netted in City's third-round win over Huddersfield and Luton will do well to silence him on Tuesday night.

Julian Alvarez to score anytime at 9/5
