Luton have a real chance of staying in the Premier League this season. They’ve given themselves hope as we head into the final five games, but they will need to pick up wins at Kenilworth Road if they are to do the unthinkable, and stay up. On Saturday afternoon, they host Brentford (15:00), who put some distance between themselves and the bottom three with a win over Sheffield United last weekend.

Below you can find my Luton vs Brentford prediction for this key clash at the bottom of the Premier League.

Luton vs Brentford Tips

  • Luton to win @ 21/10
  • Luton to win and BTTS @ 7/2

Team News

Luton’s injury list is gargantuan, and it’s testament to Rob Edwards that he has made his squad so competitive this term. Currently sidelined for the season are Tom Lockyer, Marvelous Nakamba, Jacob Brown, Amari’i Bell and Dan Potts. On a positive note, Elijah Adebayo and Chiedozie Ogbene are on their way back to fitness, while Issa Kabore is available having been unavailable to face his parent club, Man City.

Brentford are without Rico Henry, Ben Mee and Josh Dasilva until the summer, while Kristoffer Ajer could return before the end of the season. He will miss this one, but Christian Norgaard could be available after his back injury.

Match Odds

Luton are priced at 21/10 to win this game, with Brentford the slight favourites at 6/5. That gives the away side a win probability of 45%, while a draw can be backed at 13/5. If you want some goals, over 2.5 goals is 8/15 and BTTS is 4/9

Luton to win @ 21/10

Luton have five games to stay in the Premier League, and they have three winnable ones on home soil. Everton and Fulham still need to visit Kenilworth Road, but Brentford’s visit provides an excellent opportunity to get three points. With away games at Wolves and West Ham, the complete focus will be picking up wins at home, and they simply have to get points on the board. Starting on Saturday.

Luton have picked up 15 points at home this season, with four wins from 16 games, and while that is by no means a brilliant record - they are stronger at the Kenny. Meanwhile, Brentford have a pretty dismal record on the road, picking up just three wins and 11 points in total, away from home. I think given the circumstances and my lack of belief in the Bees this term, the Hatters can secure a vital win.

Luton to win and BTTS @ 7/2

As I’ve just stated, I think Luton will win this game, but I also believe we can push our odds further by backing BTTS. Luton have been the BTTS kings in the Premier League this season with 26 of their 33 matches ending with both teams finding the net. That gives them a BTTS success rate of 79% while Brentford’s rate is also high, at 67%.

I’m expecting a thriller of a game at Kenilworth Road, and with Ivan Toney and Carlton Morris on the pitch, a decent level of finishing too. We should see both teams find the net, but I’m backing the hosts to come out on top. Luton are ready to blow this relegation battle wide open.
