Liverpool vs PSG Prediction: Les Parisiens to make them count this time

Liverpool came away from Paris last week with perhaps one of the most fortunate 1-0 victories ever witnessed in the Uefa Champions League, and they will hope to defend that lead against Paris Saint-Germain for their second leg at Anfield on Tuesday (20:00, Prime Video).
The French side peppered the Reds' goal but were denied by a resilient Alisson in goal. Liverpool need to be significantly better on home turf if they are to carry themselves through to the quarter-finals, but Les Parisiens will be out for revenge. Read on for my Liverpool vs PSG predictions, accompanied by the latest match odds and team news.
Liverpool vs PSG Betting Tips
Odds correct at the time of publishing
Liverpool are unbeaten in 19 home games across all competitions, winning 17 in that run. They are 5/4, which has an implied probability of 44.4%, to win inside 90 minutes here. The draw is on offer at 3/1 on Tuesday.
PSG are 15/8 (34.8%) to prevail in regulation time and they have won each of their last 11 away trips in all competitions.
Over 3.5 goals was a winning selection in each of both teams' latest league appearances, with Liverpool beating Southampton 3-1 at Anfield, and PSG defeating Rennes 4-1 away from home. Over 3.5 goals is marketed at 11/8.
Mohamed Salah had an uncharacteristic quiet game in Paris last week but responded with a brace against Southampton at the weekend. He is the 6/5 favourite to score anytime on Tuesday.
Team News
Liverpool attacker Cody Gakpo was absent again at the weekend due to a knock, and he is unlikely to be involved for the second leg against PSG. Tyler Morton (shoulder), Joe Gomez and Conor Bradley (both hamstring) are the other absentees for the hosts.
Arne Slot made three half-time changes against Southampton, which included Dominik Szoboszlai coming off, likely with Tuesday's game in mind. Slot mentioned it was to do with the Hungarian's workload, so this could lead to Harvey Elliott, the hero of Paris, starting in the attacking midfield role.
Darwin Nunez will be pushing to lead the line in place of Diogo Jota, but in most cases, Slot is expected to name the same reliable group of players for his starting XI.
PSG boss Luis Enrique has no injury concerns ahead of this gargantuan clash, and he may be tempted to name the same team that had Liverpool on the ropes for the majority of last week's encounter at Parc des Princes.
The in-form Ousmane Dembele is set to return to the fold after being rested at the weekend, as were Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz, Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes and Gianluigi Donnarumma
PSG to win (in 90 minutes) @ 15/8
It still feels bizarre that Liverpool came away from Paris with a 1-0 victory as for most of the game they were pinned in their own half and were constantly having to deal with wave after wave of PSG attacks.
Les Parisiens ended the game with an xG of 2.58 and it remains a mystery how they didn't score several in that game. Liverpool may have the advantage but they simply cannot play like they did in Paris as it was subpar from a team set to win the Premier League title.
Being back at Anfield, which has been a fortress this campaign, can be a helping factor for the Reds, but I think that unbeaten record is in jeopardy against PSG. The visitors will be fired up to get revenge on the hosts, with a focus on them capitalising on the chances they do create.
They found it very easy to open Liverpool up in the reverse fixture, they were just unfortunate that Alisson was having the game of his life in goal. I can't see him having another heroic display, so I think there is value to be had in backing PSG to win in 90 minutes, particularly as they have won on their last 11 away trips in all competitions.

Ousmane Dembele anytime goalscorer @ 8/5
PSG attacker Dembele has been in astonishing form this season. The Frenchman has scored 28 goals in all competitions, with six of them coming in the Champions League.
He has five goals in as many games in all competitions coming into Tuesday's clash at Anfield, and he will be hoping to inspire his side to a comeback victory in the tie. Dembele had a couple of chances in the first leg that you felt he would have buried in other games.
Better accuracy will be needed this time around but with the incredible form he is in at the moment, I fancy him to get on the scoresheet in L4.
