There's a familiar cup tie taking place at Anfield this Sunday afternoon (KO, 14:30), as Liverpool host Norwich City in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The two sides met twice in cup action during the 2021/22 season, when Liverpool came all so close to securing a historic quadruple. The Reds won 3-0 at Carrow Road in the third round of the Carabao Cup in September 2021 before clinching a 2-1 victory over the Canaries in the FA Cup fifth round in March 2022.

The club are now separated by a division following the Norfolk side's relegation from the Premier League in May 2022, but they meet in similar circumstances with Liverpool going strong in all four competitions.

It's not been quite so easy-going for Norwich this term, but just one defeat in six games since the turn of the year has seen David Wagner's men rise to eighth in the Championship and into the next round of England's most famous cup competition.

Ahead of the clash on Merseyside, we've selected a 10/3 bet builder for you to consider, as Wagner takes on his great friend Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool vs Norwich Bet Builder Tips:

  • Diogo Jota to score anytime
  • Cody Gakpo to score anytime
  • Liverpool under 19.5 booking points

Diogo Jota to score anytime

The Portuguese forward is always a good bet to find the net, as evidence in his lethal performance against AFC Bournemouth last weekend, when he bagged a brace.

Jota found himself on the bench for Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Fulham in the Carabao Cup, which should mean he is guaranteed a starting berth against the Canaries.

Norwich have only kept one clean sheet in their last eight, and haven't recorded a shutout on the road since August 29. Only six clubs in the Championship have conceded more goals this season, so Jota should be licking his lips at the opportunity in front of him on Sunday.

Cody Gakpo to score anytime

You'd expect Liverpool to be hitting a few past Norwich at home, even with changes in the line-up. Gakpo started at Craven Cottage in midweek but began three of the first four matches of 2024 on the bench, so he should get the nod again on Sunday, with Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz in line for rests.

Gakpo has only scored three times in 19 Premier League outings this term, but he's been much more prolific in cup competitions. The Dutchman has four goals in five Carabao Cup appearances, as well as two in four in the Europa League.

I fancy his chances of adding to his total this weekend and sending another timely reminder of his qualities in front of goal to Klopp, ahead of huge fixtures against Chelsea and Arsenal.

Liverpool under 19.5 booking points

In theory, these kind of contests should be low on hostility, with the Reds likely to run away with it at home. If that is the case, then there is little need for Klopp's charges to pick up unnecessary bookings that could come back to haunt them at a later date.

Liverpool's only game against lower-league opposition last season came against Derby County in the Carabao Cup, with only nine fouls whistled and zero cards awarded.

The campaign prior to that, meanwhile, saw the Reds play Preston, Shrewsbury Town, Cardiff City and Nottingham Forest - all in the English Football League at the time - in cup competitions, and pick up just two cards across those four matches (one against Cardiff, one against Forest).

Three of the last four meetings between these sides, meanwhile, have seen the under 19.5 booking points bet land for Liverpool.
