The qualification for Euro 2024 continues with a key Group G clash between Lithuania and Montenegro.

Lithuania vs Montenegro Tips

  • Montenegro to win at 8/11
  • BTTS No at 4/6
  • Montenegro to win and BTTS No at 8/5

Team news

Lithuania captain Fedor Cernych is back available for selection having missed the defeat to Hungary in June through injury. Head coach Edgaras Jankauskas is still without Justas Lasickas, who is serving the second of his three-match suspension for a red card he picked up in June.

For Montenegro, former Manchester City man Stevan Jovetic is still kicking about up front, along with Lecce’s Nikola Krstović. He will be the main threat and has scored two in two in Serie A this term.

Montenegro to win

Montenegro have scored just one goal in their qualification campaign so far, in their opening day 1-0 win over Bulgaria. Since then they’ve lost to Serbia and drawn 0-0 with Hungary, but all signs, and their squad points to the fact that they should win this match.

Their defence is strong, but with Jovetic and Krstovic, they should have enough to find at least one goal. The main reason we are backing an away win is because of how weak Lithuania are. They’ve managed just one goal in their last seven outings in all competitions, which includes a 1-0 defeat to minnows Luxembourg. They’re ranked as the 144th best team in the world according to FIFA, below Suriname and Ethiopia.

BTTS No

The next logical pick is to back BTTS No. Both of these teams are shy in front of goal, and it would be somewhat of a surprise if they both found the net, given the data and performances we have seen so far. This is likely to be a 1-0 or 2-0 win to the away side, if they can find their shooting boots.

These sides are lacking in quality in front of goal, and the 4/6 on offer for BTTS No is fairly generous given they’ve managed a handful of goals between them over the course of the year.

Montenegro to win and BTTS No

If you fancy stretching the odds to 8/5, why not combine both of these selections and back this one? It also gives you an allowance if Montenegro do run riot, and there is no limit on how many goals the away side can score for this bet.
