Strasbourg take on Ligue 2 outfit Reims in the quarter finals of the Coupe de France on Tuesday. RCS have already dumped out Monaco and with Paris Saint-Germain also eliminated the French cup looks wide open this season. Strasbourg still have the Conference League to focus on but this competition could be a priority as they bid for a first success in the Coupe de France since 2001.

Strasbourg are the clear favourites to win and they should be expected to overcome Reims, even if the visitors have an excellent record in Ligue 2.

Le Racing claimed four points from their two games against Reims in Ligue 1 last season and have a formidable home record. They’ve won five of their last seven at home, losing only to PSG, and have a decent haul of 23 points from 12 home games in the league this term.

Reims are on an eight-game unbeaten run and are pushing for promotion in Ligue 2. They have drawn their last four games 0-0 but they will probably see this cup test as a welcome distraction and potentially a chance to play with a bit more freedom than they are afforded in the league, where every game counts as they bid to secure a return to the top flight.

There is a gulf in class between these sides and RCS should be able to avoid an upset, but Reims have enough about them to make this tie interesting by getting on the scoresheet.
