Liechtenstein have one final game to avoid a complete whitewash in Euro 2024 qualifying, as Luxembourg visit the city of Vaduz on Sunday evening (19:45).

The hosts have lost all nine games in Group J so far, including a 2-0 defeat to this weekend's opponents in June.

Conversely, Luxembourg should arrive at Rheinpark Stadion in jubilant fashion after thrashing Bosnia-Herzegovina 4-1 on Thursday. It wasn't enough to send them through in second, as Slovakia secured the three points they needed against Iceland to confirm automatic qualification to Germany, but the Red Lions can still qualify for the tournament through the play-offs.

Liechtenstein vs Luxembourg Betting Tips:

  • Luxembourg to score in both halves @ 21/20
  • Luxembourg to win and both teams to score @ 13/5

Team News

Neither side has noted any injury issues since Thursday's games, but Luxembourg could opt to shuffle the pack with automatic qualification now beyond them.

Match Odds

Luxembourg are priced at 11/1 to cause an upset and win on Sunday, while a draw, to secure their first point of the campaign, is 9/2. The gulf in the sides is reflected in the 1/4 odds for Luxembourg to claim all three points.

Other markets include both teams to score, which is available at 6/4, and over 2.5 goals, at 4/5.

Luxembourg to score in both halves @ 21/20

Luxembourg hit four past Bosnia on Thursday, scoring two in each half. That was the third time in nine Group J games that they have scored in both halves, and against a Liechtenstein side that has shipped 27 so far, they look a good bet to make it number four.

There is nothing serious riding on this match, so I expect the visitors to attack from the outset and continue their search for goals in the second half, knowing that points and goals conceded count for little but pride.

Luxembourg to win and both teams to score @ 13/5

Given they are on zero points after nine games, it doesn't take a very brave person to tip Luxembourg to lose again and make it 'imperfect' number 10.

They've also scored just once - away to Bosnia-Herzegovina in September - so even suggesting a goal might seem far-fetched.

However, it's the final game of the group and, as mentioned above, Luxembourg can afford to keep attacking without worrying about conceding a costly goal.

That should create some space for the Blue-Reds attack, which might find itself up against an untested backline if Luc Holtz decides to rotate and test fringe players out for the play-offs in March.

At 13/5, I think it's worth backing a bit of final-day chaos in Vaduz.
