Leyton Orient welcome Stockport County to Brisbane Road on Saturday (12:30, Sky Sports Main Event) to contest the first leg of their League 1 play-off semi-final. The O's finished the regular season strongly with a six-game winning streak that gives them some strong momentum for the play-offs.

The visitors have won seven of their previous eight matches coming into this clash, so they too are in excellent form, and this looks set up to be a classic over the two legs. Read on for my Leyton Orient vs Stockport predictions, supported by the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

Theo Archibald, Jordan Graham, Dan Happe and Tom James remain confined to the medical bay for Leyton Orient. Brandon Cooper was able to shake off a knock to feature in the 4-1 victory at Huddersfield Town last time out and he should continue in defence for the O's.

Jack Currie was fit enough to make an appearance from the bench at the John Smith's Stadium and Richie Wellens could return to a back four with Currie back at left-back.

Golden Boot winner Charlie Kelman is expected to lead the line once again after scoring 21 goals this term in the third tier, and he'll likely be aided by Tottenham Hotspur loanee Jamie Donley and Dan Agyei, who bagged a brace against the Terriers.

No player registered more assists than Donley this season (10) in League 1.

Leyton Orient vs Stockport Stats

  • Leyton Orient have won six games in a row
  • Stockport have won seven of their last eight matches
  • BTTS has struck in Stockport's last five fixtures

Stockport have no fresh concerns ahead of their trip to east London. Boss Dave Challinor was harshly overlooked as a nominee for the Manager of the Year Award but he could be on the cusp of a third promotion with the Hatters, with a second in as many years.

Kyle Wootton and Isaac Olaofe may be partnered in attack once again, having scored 20 goals between them in the third tier this term. Jayden Fevrier and Will Collar might keep their places in the supporting attacking positions.

Leyton Orient vs Stockport Odds

Orient have won six matches on the spin and they are 7/4, which has an implied probability of 36.4%, to prevail in the first leg.

Three of Stockport's last four draws came on the road and the stalemate is available at 15/8. The Hatters are the same price to collect the victory, which they have accomplished in seven of their previous eight games.

Both teams to score has been a successful bet in each of the visitors' last five contests in League 1 and 11/10 is the price for BTTS on Saturday.

Draw @ 15/8

Both teams are in excellent form coming into the play-offs and I think this should help deliver a cracking semi-final tie over the two legs. There is very little to seprate the two teams despite them finishing three places apart in the standings.

Stockport ended the campaign with 25 wins and Leyton Orient had 24. They both scored 72 goals across the 46-game season, so this all points to a very tight affair at Brisbane Road.

In the two meetings in 2024/25 so far, both clubs experienced a victory, both of which came as the away side. Stockport won here 1-0 on February 1, but both sides have improved greatly since that match, and given the form that they are in, I can see them cancelling each other out at Brisbane Road.

Both teams to score @ 11/10

I think 11/10 offers good value for both teams to get on the scoresheet on Saturday because goals have not been an issue for the two clubs throughout the season. As mentioned earlier, they managed 72 apiece in the league campaign.

Leyton Orient may rank 21st in the League 1 BTTS table but five of their last six fixtures have produced goals at both ends of the pitch. BTTS has also been a winning selection in each of Stockport's past five appearances, so I think this bodes well for Saturday's clash.
