Leyton Orient will be gunning for a third consecutive victory in League 1 on Tuesday (19:45, Sky Sports+) when they entertain Peterborough United at the Gaughan Group Stadium. The Os had had a difficult start to the season but their performances weren't reflected in their results.

Peterborough won a five-goal thriller against Bristol Rovers in their last outing and they will be looking for back-to-back wins when they head to east London. Read on for my Leyton Orient vs Peterborough prediction, as well as the latest match odds and team news.

Team News

Following a glamorous performance at Edgeley Park, Wellens could opt for an unchanged XI here for the home side. Daniel Agyei looks to have locked down his place on the left flank with two contributions against the Hatters, while the right side looks to be up for grabs. Oliver O'Neill will hope that he can make it his own but will face tough competition from Jordan Graham.

Dominic Ball will be hoping to push his way into the manager's thinking after providing an assist from the bench last time out. The Os have no fresh injury concerns heading into this one.

Posh do have one of their own as Chris Conn-Clarke was forced off in the first half against Bristol Rovers at the weekend, which would mean that Ricky Jade-Jones would need someone to come in as his strike partner. Malik Mothersille looks the most likely after scoring from the bench against the Pirates.

The likes of Andrew Odoh and Joel Randell will be hoping to force their way into the lineup on Tuesday.

Leyton Orient or Peterborough and both teams to score @ 13/10

Tuesday's battle has been made that much more interesting now that things look to be clicking for the hosts and Richie Wellens. Away wins at Reading and Stockport, the latter being a 4-1 scoreline are not to be understated, and that will have given the Os a huge boost ahead of their return to Brisbane Road.

It has certainly thrown a spanner into the works in terms of my thinking for this clash. A couple of weeks ago I'd have had Posh to edge this clash but now I can really see it going either way. Maybe you think I should be going on the fence and backing the draw but I don't think that'll be the case with these two teams.

The hosts are yet to draw this season so of course there is a case for the stalemate, but Wellens will want them to keep building momentum and a home win against last year's play-off semi-finalists would be a huge statement.

Then in the other half you have Darren Ferguson's side, who know what it takes to finish inside the top six, and whose attacking stars are some of the best on offer in the third tier. You can see why I find this game as a tough one to call.

I think both teams to score is a given as it has landed in four of Posh's six fixtures in League One, as well as in three of Leyton Orient's. The hosts have scored five in their last two outings too, and are just three shy of the visitors' tally of 10.

Goals are to be expected in east London and I think we will have a victor, I'm just not certain who it will be so double chance is the smart play in my opinion.

Over 2.5 goals @ 4/6

I have already alluded that goals are to be expected here so I think over 2.5 goals is worth backing on Tuesday. It has been a winning selection in four of the hosts' six League 1 fixtures so far, as well as in three of Peterborough's six appearances.

Five goals were scored in both sides' last outings, with the Os netting four in theirs and Posh scoring three against Bristol Rovers. The attacking players will be heading into this game full of confidence so I believe we can see the net bulge at both ends, and quite frequently.

With the form these two are currently in, they can put on a brilliant attacking display and the goals should rain down. In Poku and Etha Galbraith, you have two players who have been prolific in front of goal so it wouldn't be surprising to see either of them, or both, get on the scoresheet on Tuesday night.
