Well it looks like I’ve been given the short straw in terms of Premier League matches this weekend. Already-relegated Leicester City host already-relegated Ipswich Town on Sunday (15:00), in a game that to the surprise of nobody - hasn’t been selected to be shown by Sky Sports.

Even though there isn’t anything riding on this game we have still tried to find some value, and below you can find my Leicester vs Ipswich predictions.

Leicester vs Ipswich Betting Tips

Team News

Honestly, there’s only one man who matters on either side on Sunday. Jamie Vardy will not play in Leicester’s final game at Bournemouth, meaning this will be his last showing for the Foxes. It means he will finish on a satisfying 500 appearances, and given he is on 199 goals - one more on Sunday would round off a sensational career.

A Premier League title, an FA Cup win and so much more, Vardy will go down as one of the greatest Leicester players of all time. The club are planning to hold a display for him before the match, while afterwards former team-mates will join him to celebrate what has been an astonishing career with the Foxes.

Leicester vs Ipswich Stats

  • Ipswich have won three away games this term
  • BTTS has landed in 61% of Ipswich's PL games this season
  • Jamie Vardy is on 199 Leicester goals

There will also be 21 other players on the pitch - but I’m not sure much attention will be paid to any of them. This game has pure Vardy testimonial vibes, and that has influenced one of our selections later on.

Leicester vs Ipswich Odds

Leicester are priced at 11/8 to win this game, while Ipswich are 15/8. That gives the home side an implied win probability of 42.1%. A draw can be backed at 11/4, while over 2.5 goals is up on Betfred at 8/11.

BTTS is 8/13 and if you are after a first goalscorer, how about Vardy at 4/1?

BTTS and draw @ 16/5

Leicester have only won three home league games this season while Ipswich have picked up three wins and 15 points on the road - so this looks to be an even split. The Foxes are aiming to go three matches unbeaten for the first time in the Premier League this term, having beaten Southampton and drawn with Nottingham Forest in their last two.

These two are still competing to finish 18th, with each position in the Premier League table worth around £2.8m in prize money. However, I think Ipswich have enough to come away with a draw given Leicester’s struggles in front of their home fans. I cannot trust either defence to keep a clean sheet - with BTTS having come in during 61% of Ipswich’s matches far.

Leicester went on that wild run of games without scoring, but both teams did find the net in that entertaining 2-2 draw at Forest. Decent price for a score draw in this one.

Jamie Vardy to score anytime @ 13/10

Of course. It is surely written in the stars right? His last game for the Foxes has to end with him on the scoresheet and he will be desperate to add to the 144 Premier League goals he has scored so far, with the crowd will be willing him to do exactly that.

I still think we are getting a decent price on the fairy tale ending given that Ipswich have conceded 77 goals this term, and all of this Leicester team will be trying to set Vardy up for the finish. I am more than happy to back the perfect ending to what has been a sensational Leicester career, although retirement isn’t on his mind.

"I'll keep going until my legs tell me I need to stop. My legs are fine,” he told Sky Sports. It will be quite the occasion on Sunday afternoon, and he always rises to the big occasions.
