Leeds are involved in a fascinating four-way battle for promotion to the Premier League and the Whites will be looking to stay very much in the race alongside Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton.

Wind back the clock a few weeks and this game would look a home banker for Leeds, who can go top with a win by a two-goal margin. However, Neil Harris has returned to the Den and Millwall have won three of their four second-tier matches since the Bomber returned.

Millwall struck a blow to Southampton’s promotion chances by beating the Saints on the south coast last month and the Lions will be hunting for more points at Elland Road. This match (15:00) will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event.

Leeds vs Millwall Prediction

  • Leeds to win to nil @ 21/20
  • Millwall -10 booking points handicap @ 5/4

Team news

Jamie Shackleton and Jaidon Anthony are both available after missing the trip to Sheffield Wednesday, but Pascal Struijk and Stuart Dallas remain out.

Shaun Hutchinson, Kevin Nisbet and Tom Bradshaw are unavailable for the Lions. Ryan Longman could replace Duncan Watmore, who was replaced early in the second half against Birmingham last time out.

Match Odds

Leeds are 1/3 to collect another three points which could be enough to take them top, while Millwall are 17/2 to ease any potential concerns over the drop. The draw is a 4/1 chance.

Over 2.5 goals is priced at 8/11, while both teams to score is available at 11/10, compared to 4/6 for at least one team not to find the back of the net.

Leeds striker Joel Piroe scored a brace in the 3-0 win at the Den in September and is 5/4 to get on the scoresheet again, with Patrick Bamford priced at 13/10 and Summerville at 7/5. Zian Flemming is the shortest priced Millwall player to score anytime, on offer at 4/1.

Leeds to win to nil @ 21/20

Leeds have taken 34 points from the last 36 available to them on a run that has seen the Whites win 11 of their last 12 Championship matches.

That hot streak has put Daniel Farke’s side right on the tail of the Foxes at the top of the table and a return to the Premier League will be the target for the Elland Road men.

Leeds have some fantastic attacking talent at their disposal, with the likes of Joel Piroe, Dan James, Crysencio Summerville and Wilfried Gnonto in their squad, but the defensive stability of the Whites has been equally impressive.

No side has conceded fewer home goals in the Championship than the 12 Leeds have allowed so far this term, while Farke’s men have kept 10 clean sheets in their last 16 matches.

Millwall have scored only 36 goals in 37 Championship matches this season, and although the return of Harris has seen the Lions roar, the Bermondsey boys have hit the net only eight times in their last 11 league games.

Harris will attempt to set up Millwall in a way that makes it difficult for Leeds to break them down, and while that may have some success, it’s difficult to see the Lions posing too many problems to the Leeds’ defence.

The Whites should edge this contest and backing Farke’s men to win to nil at Elland Road looks a sound bet.

Leeds United to win to nil at 21-20

Millwall -10 booking points handicap @ 5/4

Harris knows Millwall like the back of his hand and his return has seen the Lions win three of their last four matches. As well as points, the former Cambridge gaffer has delivered an increased level of commitment.

The Lions have been shown at least two yellow cards, in all but one of the four games of Harris’ second spell at the club, and that have been handed a total of nine cautions in those contests.

Leeds are likely to dominate the ball at Elland Road, which could mean plenty of Millwall challenges and the Lions look a bet giving a 10-point start of the bookings point handicap.
