Bottom of the table Lecce welcome fellow strugglers Hellas Verona to the Stadio Via del Mare (17:30) for one of three Tuesday offerings from Serie A.

Lecce are without a win in seven, dating back to August and their only league success of the season when they beat Cagliari. Verona are only faring a little better, with reverses in five of their last six outings.

The visiting side do know that a win could see them climb as high as 10th, while hosts Lecce will stay in the bottom three irrespective of the outcome. Below you can find my Lecce vs Hellas Verona predictions.

Lecce vs Hellas Verona Betting Tips

  • Hellas Verona to win to nil @ 4/1
  • Red card to be shown @ 3/1

Team News

Hosts Lecce are set to remain without the trio of Kevin Bonifazi, Filip Marchwinski and Medon Berisha, while full-back Frederic Guilbert missed the weekend loss to league leaders Napoli and will be assessed again.

On the opposite side of the defence, left-back Antonino Gallo is available again after suspension.

Verona are also welcoming back Ondrej Duda from a ban, but boss Paolo Zanetti is set to remain without Juan Cruz, Abdou Harroui, Martin Frese and Pawel Dawidowicz.

Lecce vs Hellas Verona odds

Lecce are favourite at 11/10 to get a second home win of the season at fifth attempt, while visitors Verona are priced at 5/2 to emerge with a fourth league success of the season.

I Gialloblu haven't been involved in a stalemate so far, with three wins and six losses, and the draw is trading at 12/5.

Goals have been in short support for the hosts this season, with just three in the league and under 2.5 match goals is priced at 4/6, while both teams to score is 5/6.

Hellas Verona to win to nil @ 4/1

Lecce have only managed to hit the net three times in nine games so far, a truly uninspiring record.

Even allowing for the fact that Verona have conceded 21 goals in nine games, including six at Atalanta last time out, it is hard to have faith in the hosts.

Lecce have lost five games on the trot and failed to score in six of the last seven in all competitions.

Verona suffered a backlash at Atalanta as the Bergamo side atoned for having missed some very good scoring chances in their Champions League draw with Celtic.

Zanetti's side have, though, managed to at least find the net in five of their last six games.

They carry more threat and they won't get a better chance for a shutout of their own than now as they face a timid attacking threat from the hosts.

Red card to be shown @ 3/1

With the struggles of combining to lose 12 of the 18 Serie A games they have played has come indiscipline. Verona were reduced to 10 men in their 3-2 losses at home to Torino and away at Como in September.

Dawidowicz was red-carded for the eighth time in his career for an elbow after 20 minutes against Torino, while Tomas Suslov picked up two cautions in three second-half minutes against Como.

Lecce are no saints either. Talented winger Patrick Dorgu and defenders Guilbert and Gallo have all received straight reds this season as Lecce brought a little too much fight to their game.

There have been five red cards dished out in Lecce's last seven Serie A games and, with an increasingly desperate need for points for both sides, tempers could boil over again.
