Lecce vs Torino Prediction: Safety to slip further away for I Giallorossi

Lecce's 1-1 draw at relegation rivals Hellas Verona last Saturday extended their winless run to 13 games, form which has them mired in the drop zone. With a tough trip to Rome next weekend to take on Lazio in their final match of the Serie A season, I Giallorossi will be aware that only a victory is likely to suffice on Sunday (19:45) when they host mid-table Torino at the Stadio Via del Mare.
Below are my Lecce vs Torino predictions, complete with all the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Gaby Jean and Filip Marchwinski (both knee) were absent from training this week, and the duo's absence is expected to continue this weekend.
Rares Burnete and Kialonda Gaspar (both unspecified) trained individually, making both players a doubt for Sunday.
Marco Giampaolo may consider changes to his starting XI, with Danilo Veiga, Santiago Pierotti and Lameck Banda among those he could call up from the bench.
Lecce vs Torino Stats
- Lecce are winless in their last 13 games (D5, L8)
- Torino have won four of their last five H2Hs with Lecce (inc. last two away)
- The reverse fixture ended 0-0 in September
Torino's injury list is considerably longer, with Duvan Zapata, Perr Schuurs, Emirhan Ilkhan (all knee), Alieu Njie (ankle), Marcus Pedersen (head) and Amine Salama (muscle) set to miss out again.
Borna Sosa (ankle) and Yann Karamoh (hernia) are both doubtful, too.
Lecce are 5/6 to gain a vital victory in their quest for survival, implying a 54.5% probability, while Torino are 7/2, or a 22.2% chance, to break out of their three-game winless slump.
The sides played out a goalless draw in Turin last September, and another stalemate on Sunday can be backed at 12/5, with a repeat of that 0-0 scoreline at 7/1.
Match Result - Torino @ 7/2
Granted, Torino are winless in their last three matches and have lost three of their last five, but those defeats have been at home to reigning champions Inter (0-2) and away to I Nerazzurri's title rivals, Napoli (2-0), and in-form Como (1-0), who have won their last six games.
Those three losses are also Torino's only ones in their last 11 contests, and Paolo Vanoli will be looking for a strong finish to the season as he looks to catch Como and secure a top-half position.
Lecce have much more to fight for this weekend with their top-flight status hanging well and truly in the balance, but they've shown few signs of being able to end their long wait for a win, holding on to the lead for just 18 minutes in their 1-1 draw at Verona last Sunday.
I Giallorossi haven't tasted success since January 31, and not at home since December 15, when they beat bottom club Monza 2-1. They've scored just four goals in their last seven games and now come up against a team that has conceded just eight in their last eight.
Lecce are Serie A's lowest scorers this season, netting just 25 times in 36 outings, and they could struggle to lay much of a glove on Torino this weekend.
They'll have to go for it, though, which should give Torino plenty of chances to pick them off on the counterattack, so I'm seeing a lot of value in backing an away win on Sunday.

Total Goals - Under 1.5 @ 7/4
These two teams are among the least entertaining in Serie A, with Lecce the lowest scorers and Torino (39) the joint-seventh lowest. Il Toro don't concede many, though, with 42 ranking the Turin club's defence as the meanest in the bottom half.
Unsurprisingly, Torino (joint-sixth) rank highly in Serie A's under 1.5 goals table, with 31% of their league games this season seeing one or fewer strikes.
Lecce, meanwhile, top the table with 39%.
Given I've already backed the visitors to triumph in my first tip, backing Torino to win to nil, as they have done in four of their last five meetings with Lecce, appears tempting at 6/1, although backing under 1.5 total goals offers a lot more insurance.
